IIT Hyderabad CSE will be a better choice. CSE graduates from IITH received great placements with cushy salary packages. If you don’t have an inclination towards any specific branch, go for CSE.
During 2022 placements, IIT Hyderabad CSE average package was INR 17.54 LPA. While the highest CTC stood around INR 46 LPA.
You should choose IIT Madras CSE. Being a metro city, Chennai has an edge over Kanpur. It will be easier to get resources, internships, projects, and placements. IIT Madras has a smaller batch size. So, it’s easier for students to communicate with teachers. If you are interested in Machine Learning and AI, then IITM will be the better option. CSE Prof. Balaraman Ravindran has been featured in reputed business magazines.
IIT Madras placements are excellent for CSE. Students of the branch usually receive an average CTC of around INR 17.54 LPA.
The choice of the branch, as well as the Institute, depends on a lot of factors like your personal preferences and the other options you have. It’s difficult to say which is better between the Mechanical Engineering program at IIT Madras and CSE at NIT Trichy, as both are highly reputable institutions with strong engineering programs. Both offer excellent curricula, experienced faculty, and ample opportunities for research and extracurricular activities.
Joining NIT Trichy for CSE is a good choice if
Joining IIT Madras for Mechanical Engineering is a good choice if
Some other options to consider are
All these have average packages above 20 LPA and are excellent options. The preference order for branches on the basis of job prospects and the current demands in the market is as follows
CSE > M&C > ECE > EE
All these branches are open to software profiles whereas other branches usually offer non-core profiles even Mechanical. Ultimately, it's important to research both programs and consider your own interests and goals before making a decision.
For CSE, you will need a CGPA of above 9. Naturally, the required CGPA varies each year, depending on competition, seat availability, etc. CSE is the most sought-after, so the CGPA requirement usually stays high. There are also other additional rules regarding branch changes. IIT Madras allows a maximum change of 10% in both branches.
Anyone who has the option of choosing IIT Madras must without further thinking grab the opportunity.
My friend was a graduate student of Automotive Engineering (Engineering Design) from IIT Madras but ended up with a career in Data Science and Algorithmic Trading. Thus every engineer irrespective of his branch should be proficient in at least one programming language.
Choose your college wisely as it’s responsible for shaping and steering your career.
It’s a bit difficult to draw comparisons between NIT Warangal CSE program and CivIl Engineering program at IIT Madras, as they are different programs offered at different institutions. Both NIT Warangal and IIT Madras are highly respected institutions in their respective fields, and both offer excellent educational opportunities.
It’s a brainer that CSE is a much more preferred branch than civil engineering. But before choosing any branch you need to first determine your inclinations whether you want to go for IES, PWD job, a government sector job, or want to enter the corporate world. For most of these prospects, Civil is a better choice but for the corporate sector, CSE is better. Moreover,
I am not saying Civil has no opportunities, it’s just that CSE is the perfect choice for someone interested in programming and wants to enter the corporate sector.
Ultimately, the decision of which program is "better" for you will depend on your personal interests and career goals. It's important to research and thinks about the curriculum, campus culture, research opportunities, and career prospects offered by each program before making a decision.
Both IIT Madras and IIIT Hyderabad are considered prestigious especially when it comes to CS as both offer excellent education and opportunities in the same. Some pointers that might help you decide are
As far as placements are concerned, both institutes get a fair share of companies offering good packages.
Both the programs, Chemical Engineering at IIT Madras and Computer Engineering at IIT Indore offers excellent courses and opportunities. However, the choice of the program is more of a personal decision as it depends on career goals, personal interests, and other criteria. It's not a hidden fact that Computer Engineering has a wider scope in almost all sectors in comparison to Chemical engineering. So obviously it is a safe option, but what if you take a specific branch just for placements and then regret it later?
If you take Chemical you can also change your branch to Computer later but it won't be possible Vive Versa. You must decide after considering all factors and most importantly your interests. Find out what makes you happy the most out of coding, data analysis, or research in a chemical lab, finding solutions for medicinal products, health, synthetic materials, and so on.
There are examples of IITians dropping out to chase their dreams after realizing they were chasing the wrong branch. Only you can identify your innermost driving factor that will sustain your happiness later on in life.
