Poornima University Admission 2023: Dates, Courses, Fees, Eligibility, Selection Criteria & Application Process

The University offers admission to 4 years full time B.Tech. courses under eight specializations. B.Tech in Computer Engineering and other related specializations are powered by Microsoft. Admissions to 70% seats are done on the basis of the Entrance exam conducted by University. The university also offers direct admission to B.Tech. course.

Poornima University offers B.Tech courses under 7 specializations as mentioned below:

Poornima University B.Tech. And B.Tech. Lateral Entry Eligibility 

Eligibility for B.Tech. – Candidates must have passed in 10+2 and obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to ST/SC/OBC/SBC) in any of the three subjects from - Mathematics/ Physics/ Chemistry/ Computer Science/ Electronics/ Information Technology/ Biology/ Informatics Practices/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational Subject/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies/ Entrepreneurship.

Eligibility for B.Tech. Lateral Entry – For admissions to B.Tech (lateral Entry), candidates must have passed 10+3 Diploma in the relevant discipline.

Poornima University B.Tech. And B.Tech. Lateral Entry Selection Criteria

• Admissions 70% of the seats are done on the basis of merit in the Entrance Exam conducted by the University.
• Admissions 15% of the seats are done on the basis of merit in the JEE MAIN exam.
• Admissions to the remaining 15% seats are done on the basis of merit in the 10+2 examination.

The University offers admission to 3 years full time BBA courses under four specializations. Admissions are done on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination.

Eligibility 

Candidates must have passed 10+2 examination in any stream with minimum 50% (45% for SC/ST/NCL-OBC/SBC/Girls) marks in aggregate from CBSE / equivalent board.

Selection Criteria

Candidates are selected on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination.

The University offers B.Arch., B.Des., B.Sc., BVA, BCA., B.Com., B.A., and B.Sc. in Public Health / Hotel Administration / Animation courses at the Undergraduate level. The basic eligibility for all the courses is a pass in 10+2.

Admissions to UG courses are done on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination. For B.Arch., the university considers a valid score on the NATA exam. Candidates having an NCHM JEE scores are also granted admission in B.Sc. Hospitality & Hotel Administration.

The University offers admission to 2 years full time M.Tech. courses under 12 specializations.

Poornima University offers M.Tech courses under 12 specializations as mentioned below:

Eligibility Criteria 

• Candidates must have passed BE/B.Tech/equivalent in relevant discipline from a recognized university with 55% marks or 6.25 CGPA on 10 point scale (50% or 5.75 CGPA on 10 point scale for ST / SC / OBC / SBC). 
• Candidates with MCA / M.Sc. IT can apply for M.Tech. in Computer Engineering.

Selection Criteria

Candidates are selected based on the merit in the GATE exam.

The University offers admission to 2 years full time MBA courses under five specializations. Admissions are done on the basis of merit in CAT.

Poornima University offers MBA courses under five specializations and they are:

Eligibility Criteria 

Candidates must have passed 3 years Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3) with minimum 50% marks (45% for ST/SC/OBC/SBC) from a recognized University or equivalent

Selection Criteria

Candidates are selected based on the merit in the CAT/CMAT exam.

Poornima University offers M.Plan., M.Des., MPH, MHA, MBA, MCA, M.Tech., M.Sc., M.Com. and M.A., at the Postgraduate level. All the courses are of 2 years duration. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree with minimum required marks in order to apply for any of the courses

Admissions to PG courses are done on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination.

Poornima University also offers Diploma and PG Diploma courses. The minimum requirement for Diploma is 10+2 whereas for PG Diploma, Graduation is required.

Admission these programmes are based on merit obtained in the qualifying exam.

Poornima University offers PhD. programs across 5 disciplines such as Engineering, Design, Management, Science & Humanities and Public Health. The minimum requirement for the course is Master’s degree or Professional degree equivalent to Master’s degree with minimum 55% aggregate marks or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale.

Selection is based on the performance in Ph.D. Entrance Test known as RAT conducted by the University followed by Personal Interview.

Key Points:

• Candidates are required to qualify Research Aptitude Test (RAT) conducted by the University in 2 stages i.e. Entrance Test and PI.
• The Entrance Test will be of 2.5 hours consisting of two parts with weightage equal to 70 marks: (i) Research Methodology (Objective Type) (Duration: 90 Minutes) and (ii) Subject Specific Related Short Essay Type Questions (Duration: 60 Minutes)
• Candidates qualifying the Entrance Test with minimum 50% marks will be called for PI.
• Candidates will be selected based on the performance in Entrance Test and PI.
• Candidates who have qualified UGC-NET (including JRF)/UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/SLET/GATE/teacher fellowship holder or M. Phil. degrees are exempted from Ph.D Entrance Test.
