GNDU M.Tech. Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who want to take admission in 2 years full-time M.Tech courses must meet the following eligibility criteria.

Construction Technology & Management BE/B.Tech degree in relevant subject from a recognized university with at least 50% score
Environmental Science and Technology BE/B.Tech degree in relevant subject from a recognized university with at least 55% score
Electronics & Communication Engineering Specialization (Communication Systems)  BE/B.Tech degree in relevant subject from a recognized university with at least 60% score
Computer Science & Engineering BE/B.Tech degree in relevant subject from a recognized university with at least 50% score

NOTE - Students from SC/ST category get a 5% relaxation in the minimum required score.

GNDU M.Tech. Admission Guidelines

The university conducts its own entrance exam to select candidates for admission in M.Tech courses. Once the exam is over, the list of qualified candidates is published on the university’s official website. 

  • Admission is done strictly based on performance in the entrance examination.
  • Seats are allotted to selected candidates on a first come first serve basis. 
  • The university also accepts GATE score for admission to M.Tech course.
  • Candidates with a valid GATE score are exempted from the entrance exam conducted by GNDU.

How to apply?

To apply for M.Tech courses at Guru Nanak Dev University, follow the steps given below.

  • Visit the official website of the university
  • Click on Admission portal and select the option for new admissions
  • Now register yourself on the website by entering the details asked
  • Your login credentials would be sent on your device. Login using your credentials in the candidate area
  • Now register yourself for the M.Tech course and submit
  • Pay the registration fee of INR 1200 through online mode or as per your convenience and proceed towards the next stage
  • Now fill the application form by entering the requisite details
  • Finally, upload your documents as applicable and submit your application
  • Following the submission of the application form, take its print out for future references.
  • When the admit card of the exam will be released, candidates can download their admit card from the same section.

GNDU M.Tech. Course Details

The M.Tech course is divided into 4 semesters across a duration of 2 years. Mid-semester and End semester exams are conducted once a year. Students are free to choose their own electives from a given list of subjects.

The course follows a credit-based system with each elective and subjects carrying a specific amount of credits. The credits vary between semesters.

Ques. Can a foreign/ NRI candidate apply for an M.Tech course at GNDU?

Ans. Guru Nanak Dev University offers admission to NRI/ foreign candidates against seats specially reserved for such applicants. These candidates can also apply through the entrance exam. However, the fee structure for foreign nationals is a bit different from general candidates.

Ques. What are the prospects of higher studies after completing M.Tech from GNDU?

Ans. Students completing M.Tech from Guru Nanak Dev University can apply for a PhD program to the same institute. The university accepts GATE score or NET scores for admission into such courses. Ans. Candidates who want to take admission into M.Tech courses must apply online through the university‘s website by registering themselves. The institute does not support offline mode of application for any of its courses.
