VSSUT Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria

VSSUT Ph.D. Admission Criteria

VISSUT follows strict admission criteria for the Ph. D program was given by the Academic Council of the University. Firstly, the interested candidates must fill up the application form through online mode.

Steps to apply for the Ph.D. program as mentioned below:

  • Visit the official website of VSSUT.
  • Fill up the Online Application form.
  • Upload passport size photo and signature.
  • Pay the registration fee (General quota - INR 500, SC/ST quota – INR 200).
  • After filling it successfully, the candidate must take a print out of his/her application form (2 copies) in which an auto-generated application code is present.
  • Along with the self-attested copies of required documents, the candidate must send the application form and the receipt of the application of fee to the Dean, PGS&R, VSSUT, Burla by Speed Post.
  • The application envelope should contain this description - “Application for PhD Program spring semester 2021; Department of Engineering/Architecture/Science /Humanities.”

  • Class XII mark sheet
  • Bachelor’s degree or provisional degree transcripts
  • Master’s degree or provisional degree transcripts
  • Scanned copy of Photograph and Signature
  • Community certificate - SC/ST/OBC

The selected candidate will be attending an Online Entrance Test conducted by the university.

VSSUT Ph.D. FAQs

Ques. Are VSSUT Ph.D. students provided hostel facilities?

Ans. The hostels are available on the University campus. Hostel facilities accommodate around 4000 students.

Ques. What is the VSSUT Ph.D. exam pattern?

Ans. The question paper will differ according to the Department. The entrance exam will carry a total of 100 marks. The qualifying marks for General, and SC/ST quota is mentioned below.

Ques. What is the VSSUT Ph.D. selection criteria?

Ans. The first 40 marks will be awarded as per the candidate’s previous academic performances. The written test will be held for 30 marks. Finally, the viva will be for 30 marks.

Ques. What if I have a GATE/ NET scorecard for VSSUT Ph.D. admission?

Ans. The candidates who have qualified GATE/ NET/ Inspired fellowship (DST)/Teacher fellowship (UGC) and other fellowships from Govt. Agencies are exempted from the Written Test and they will be given preference in the selection of Ph.D. admission.

Ques. Will I be exempted from the VSSUT Ph.D. entrance exam if I have a GATE/NET scorecard?

Ans. They are required to appear only for the interview before DAC to assess their research aptitude, ability to work in a team, subject interest, and availability of supervisors and facilities in the Department before final selection
