VSSUT BTech admissions are based on JEE Main exam scores. Phase 1 of the JEE Main 2022 concluded successfully on June 29. Phase 2 of the exam began on July 25 and will continue till July 30. VSSUT offers a full time 4 year BTech course under 8 specializations. The admissions are based on JEE Mains followed by JoSSA counseling. In order to get admission to the institute, the candidates need to secure at least 45% marks for general category and 40% marks in case of SC/ST category in 10+2. With mathematics and physics as compulsory subjects and chemistry and bio as optional subjects.

Eligibility Criteria:
You should have passed the Class 12th (10+2) Examination from a recognised Board, with at least 45% marks for general category and 40% marks in case of SC/ST category.
You should have studied Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects at the 10+2 level, with Chemistry or Bio as optional subjects.

VSSUT B.Tech Admission Process
You will be selected on the basis of the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination. For admission to the B.Tech. Programme in Lateral Entry, you will have to appear for the Lateral Entry Test (Engineering Mechanics, Basic Electrical Engineering & Engineering Mathematics).
The paper is for a duration of 2 hours with a total of 120 questions. Subjects from which questions would be asked in the exam will be Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics. All the three sections of subjects will weigh equally. For any un-attempted question, no marks will be deducted. The paper I will be held in offline and online mode but Paper-II will only be held in offline mode. You will be asked multiple choice type questions in the exam. You will have to mark one answer from the given set of 4 options. There would be negative marking for marking incorrect answers. For each wrong answer, one-fourth of the marks shall be deducted.
You should be able to secure a minimum of 45% marks in case of general category, and 40% marks in case of SC/ST category.
How To Apply?
You should access the Application Form B through the Online Mode only, from the website.
Step 1: You should fill the Form with the required personal and educational information.
Step 2: You should then upload your photograph, signature and your Left hand Thumb Impression. These must fulfil the following requirements:

Step 3: You should make the payment for the Application Fee of Rs. 1000 through either of the following ways:
- By Debit Card / credit card (VISA / MASTER / Maestro cards/internet banking); or
- Remittance through e-Challan by deposit in OJEE Bank Account with State Bank of India (State Bank Collect). The e- challan form option will be visible. You should print the challan and then move to any branch of State Bank of India branch and pay the fee.
Step 4: You should then “submit” the Application Form online. Your Application process is now complete.
After you have submitted, you will get a Confirmation Page. You must take a print out of the Confirmation Page. However, you are not required to send hard copy of the application i.e. confirmation page to OJEE office.
