Kerala University B.Com Eligibility Criteria
In order to be eligible for B.Com admission at Kerala University, candidates must fulfill the following requirements:
- Candidates who wish to take admission in this course must have cleared their Higher Secondary, i.e.,10 +2 examinations.
- The maximum age limit to apply for this course for General/SEBC candidates is 23 years while for candidates belonging to the SC/ST category is 25 years.

- Instructions for Online Registration: Candidates are cautioned to study the commands cautiously earlier than registration. After analysing the commands click on the "Proceed" button. Do not press the “BACK” button throughout the registration.
Step 1: Payment of Registration Fee
The fee for the registration will be as follows:
- For General/SEBC candidates: INR 500
- For SC/ST candidates: INR 250
Applicants must pay the registration fee through the online payment service after clicking the "Pay Online" button.
Candidates should not transfer the fee by any other means such as demand draft, check, chalan, etc. After completing the payment, the candidate must proceed with the registration.
Once submitted, the registration fee will not be refunded under any circumstances.

- Category: Based on the caste, the system will automatically display the reservation category.
- Allotment Category: Based on the caste and creamy layer status, the system will automatically display the allotment category.
Step 3: Academic Profile Registration
Enter marks of the qualifying examination of the applicant.
- Type of Examination: Regular, Part-time or Open school.
- Board of Study: Select HSE-Kerala, VHSE-Kerala, ISC, CBSE, THSE or OTHERS. If the applicant has studied in Other Boards, he/she has to acquire an Eligibility Certificate from the University of Kerala and shall submit the same to the college if he/she gets admission.
- Stream: Stream of the applicant like Science, Humanities, Commerce
- Year of Passing: Select the year of passing of the qualifying examination.
- Number of Appearances: The number of attempts taken to complete the qualifying examination.
- Examination Register Number: The Registration number of qualifying examinations.
- Mark Details: Choose applicable Mark System. If the candidate has studied under the Grade system, it's his/her responsibility to convert his/her grades into marks by following the directions from his/her board of study and manufacture the valid documents at the time of admission.
After filling the aforementioned details, click "Save and Continue" button for submitting these details.
Step 4: Upload Photograph and Signature
For uploading a photo and signature, choose the image using the "Browse" button. Once the photo and signature are uploaded, Click the "Continue" button for further registration.
Step 5: Add and change the options
- Choice of selections is to be finished with utmost care. On every selection of programme/college choice, a similar option is added to the list of options by invoking the "Add Option" button. A student can add up to a maximum of twenty options.
- The preference numbers alongside the chosen options shows the priority of options. Thus, candidates should be terribly careful in prioritizing their options.
Step 6: Verification of the Application
After adding all the options, click the “Preview and Verify Completed Application” button for the pending registration. An in-depth verification be performed before taking the printout. Provision for correction is permissible in some specific fields in every section.
Step 7: Printout of the Application Form
Click the 'Print Completed Application' button to take out the print out of the finished application form. The Registration method is completed solely once taking the print out of the completed application form. Applicants are instructed to submit their application on-line among the time schedule specified, through the admission portal.

Kerala University B.Com Course Details
The normal period of the Degree Programme in Commerce shall be 3 years consisting of six semesters. The duration of {every} semester shall be 5 months comprehensive of the times of examinations. There shall be a minimum of ninety operating days in an exceedingly semester and a minimum 450 hours of instruction in a semester. Odd Semester (June-October) commences in June and Even Semester (November – March) commences in Nov every Year.

- Attendance
The minimum range of hours of lectures, tutorials, seminars or practical that a student shall be needed to attend for eligibility to attend at the end semester examination shall not be less than seventy-five per cent of the whole number of lectures, tutorials, seminars or practical sessions.
- Evaluation
There is a continuous assessment (CE) and an assessment at the end of the semester (ESE) for each course. The CE is based on specific components, namely presence, exams, assignments and seminars. The CE is 20 points and the ESE is 80 points. The grades for each CE component are: attendance - 5, homework / seminar - 5 and exam tests - 10. Quality of a work in terms of structure, content, presentation etc. and inform the students. Weight can be given due to timely delivery.
- Assessments / Seminars
Every student has to carry out an assessment or a seminar for each course, the seminars are organized by the teacher responsible for CE and evaluated by a group of teachers including the teacher for tests for each course at least one class test takes place during a semester. Valuable answer scripts are made available to the students for examination within 10 days of the test date.
- End-of-semester assessment (ESE)
End of semester exams of all the courses in all semesters are conducted by the university. The exam duration for all courses is 3 hours. In the case of the computer application course, the examination duration is 3 hours for the theory and 90 minutes for the practical examination.
