IIM Kozhikode’s MBA in liberal studies is a fresh change from the traditional MBA. It helps in the comprehensive development of students. Moreover, IIM Kozhikode has the best faculty when it comes to Humanities & Liberal Arts in Management.

Some amazing features of this course are:

• It teaches the students soft skills like management, empathy, leadership, etc which go a long way over hard skills like complex excel models, and well-researched reports taught in traditional MBA.

• The course is a good choice because of its content. You will have to select many of the Humanities & Liberal Arts electives to complete their degree requirements.

• Companies considering HR, or Consulting roles will definitely prioritize you.

The post graduate program (PGP) in Business Leadership (BL) of IIM Kozhikode is a 

• One year

• Full time

• Residential program

It has been initiated from 16 December,2019. The admission process of the same has been conducted by the best officials. The program has seen a batch of students with diverse backgrounds. Almost 50% of the seats are reserved for women.

Eligibility-

To be eligible for the IIM Kozhikode PGP-BL, the applicants must have:

• 50% in their graduation/post-graduation/CA

• three years of relevant work experience post-graduation

• a GMAT/GRE/CAT score from the previous three years

Features-

Fees- 

IIM Kozhikode 1 year PGP Business Leadership program fee is Rs. 22,50,000. This fee includes program delivery, books and instruction material, in-campus hostel accommodation, and access to all in-campus facilities such as the library.

The PGP finance program at IIM Kozhikode is indeed good. IIM Kozhikode is the 4th Ranked B-School in MHRD NIRF Ranking (2021) among the top 100 Management Institutes. 

The PGP Finance is a two-year full-time masters level program designed to aid students in pursuing careers in the financial world, in domains such as corporate finance, investment banking, and wealth management.

Most of the courses are very easy, especially for commerce graduates from DU or other reputed colleges.

The students' response to the IIM Kozhikode's PGP-LSM program was good. The demand of the course was also high.

But as far as the response of the industry is concerned, I think it will take a few more years to assess this. The course is new and will offer opportunities different from that of a general MBA program. Both the courses are not likely to overlap in significance for a few more years.

The EPGCOM or Executive Post Graduate Certificate in Operations Management is an excellent course of IIM Kozhikode. It’s a good choice for those who have been in the operations domain and want to pursue it further.

If you have no operations background, this course won’t be useful for you. It requires relevant work experience. 

Although the faculty and teaching methodology for this course is excellent, there is no placement assistance provided by EPGCOM.

So if you have relevant experience and wish to climb the ladder further then this course is the best option.

IIM Kozhikode does not offer any specialization degree. It offers a General Management or PGDM (Post Graduate Diploma in Management). This is somewhat equivalent to an MBA. It doesn’t offer specific PGDM in Operations, Finance, HR, etc.

A variety of electives are offered in the second year. You may choose these on the basis of your interests and the career you wish to pursue.

The area offers a list of elective courses in which the students choose to have a career in the human resource field or develop their people management competency. Some elective courses are as follows:

Honestly, IIM Kozhikode is not a good option for HR. IIM Ranchi or SCMHRD are better options for the same.

The new PGP courses in Finance and Liberal Arts have a lot of expectations. My friend met a few professors from IIM Kozhikode and they were really looking forward to these courses.

The only drawback is that the placement opportunities for these courses are still unknown. So all we can do is wait for the best results.
