Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) offers a full-time Bachelor of Arts (BA) program in 5 specializations. The minimum duration of the BA course is 3 years except for BA (Aesthetics & Peace Studies) for which the duration is 3 years. The basic eligibility required to apply for the BA program offered at MAHE is 10+2 in any stream. Admissions are granted on the basis of merit rank of the candidates through their qualifying examination, SOP, and Personal Interview except for BA (Media & Communication) for which Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) Entrance Test (MET).

Manipal University (MAHE) BA Eligibility Criteria

Candidates seeking admission to the 3-year full-time undergraduate BA course should meet the following eligibility criteria: 

  • Must have passed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks. 
  • Minimum 2/3 subjects within the ‘A’ Levels and 5 Passes within the IGCSE / GCSE including English. The minimum requirement is an average of a ‘D’ grade. 
  • IB Diploma or IB Certificate with 3 subjects at HL and the three subjects at SL with an overall minimum of 24 points.
  • For Admission to BA Foreign Languages & Intercultural Studies: Passed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized Board, with minimum 50 % aggregate marks.
  • For Admission to BA Media and Communication: Passed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized Board, with minimum 45 % aggregate marks.

Manipal University (MAHE) BA Admission Guidelines

Manipal University provides admission to the BA course on the basis of various factors such as:

  • Admission to B.A. in Media and Communication (BAMC) program is done on the basis of an entrance examination i.e. Manipal University Entrance Test (MET).
  • For Admission to the rest of the B.A. programs, candidates shall submit the Statement of Purpose (SOP).
  • Shortlisted candidates through qualifying examination scores and SOP will be called for a personal interview (PI).
  • A merit list will be issued which will be based on SOP & PI.
