Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) is a multidisciplinary research institute located at Jakkur, Bangalore, India. It was established in year 1989. Presently 300 students are enrolled in this university. It offers various PhD programs, Research programs, Post-graduate diploma programs and Integrated PhD programs.

For MS PhD Admissions:
- For Integrated PhD program, criterion is that candidate must secure 55% marks at Bachelor’s level
- Candidate must qualify NET-JRF under CSIR/UGC fellowship schemes or DBT/ ICMR–JRF/ INSPIRE-JRF or GATE / JEST / GPAT for admission to PhD/MS (Research)
- Application process will be available in both modes i.e. Online and Offline
- Selection of candidates will be based on Written test and Interview
Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for MS, Int. Ph.D. and Ph.D. are as follows:
- Integrated (Int.) Ph.D. Program: A minimum of 55% marks at Bachelor’s level is required. Candidates appearing for their final year exams in Bachelor’s can also apply.
- Materials Science and Biological Science: Candidates having Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Science can apply.
- Chemical Science: Candidates must have Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Science with Chemistry as a major and mathematics as a subject at least up to PUC (10+2 level).
- For PhD/ M.S. (Research): Candidates must have qualified NET-JRF under CSIR/UGC fellowship schemes or DBT/ ICMR–JRF/ INSPIRE-JRF or GATE / JEST / GPAT. ME/MTech candidates are required to qualify one of the exams, however candidates without these exams qualified may also be considered.
Selection Process
On basis of eligibility criteria candidates will be called for written exam and Interview. Final Selection of candidates will be based on their performance in written test followed by an Interview. Marks scored in both i.e. written test and interview will be taken into account.

Application process is available in both online and offline modes. Candidates can download the form from the official website or can write to Assistant Coordinator for receiving by post.
Online Mode
Candidates can visit the official website for downloading the application form and information manual. The steps are as follows:
- Visit the official website
- Click on ‘Admission’ tab and further on ‘Research Admission’
- A new window appears depicting the link to ‘Apply Online’
- Click on the link of ‘Apply Online’
- A Word file will download containing the application form and information manual
- Take printout of the downloaded form and fill it completely
- Attach the recent passport sized photograph in the space provided
- After verifying the form and details, attach required documents and sent it at

Candidates can get the application form along with the information brochure by post, by writing to Assistant Coordinator.
