Possesses Master’s Degree from a University recognized by UGC or any other qualification recognized as equivalent thereto in such fields of study as are notified for the purpose from time to time by the University with at least 55% marks [50% marks in the case of SC, ST, OBC (Non-creamy Layer) and Differently-Abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of UGC from time to time, or for those who had obtained their Master’s Degree prior to 19th September, 1991]excluding grace mark.

IGNOU PhD Mathematics Admission 2023 for the January session will begin soon. The university will tentatively release the application form for admission in the month of December 2022. Aspiring candidates can apply online on the university’s official website - ignou.ac.in.

IGNOU offers a Ph.D. program in Mathematics for a minimum duration of 3 years. Admission to the course is done on the basis of an entrance exam conducted by the varsity followed by an interview. IGNOU PhD Mathematics Eligibility

• The candidates must have a Post-Graduation degree with a minimum of 55% marks in the relevant discipline from a recognized board/University or equivalent.
• The candidates belonging to the reserved category and those who are differently disabled get a 5% relaxation, i.e. minimum eligibility is 50% in Master’s degree.

IGNOU PhD Mathematics Assignments

Assignments constitute continuous evaluation. The marks that you secure in the assignments will be counted in your final result. As mentioned earlier, an assignment of a course carries 30% weightage. You are therefore advised to take your assignment seriously. 

Non Submission of Assignment

The TMA for each semester can be downloaded from the Student Zone of the University website. You have to complete the assignment within the due dates specified in the assignment booklet. You will not be allowed to appear for the term-end examination for any course if you do not submit the assignment in time for that course. If you appear in the term-end examination, without submitting the assignments, the result of the term-end examination is liable to be canceled.
