IGNOU BA English admission 2024 for the July session has been started.The last date to apply is July 31, 2024. Interested candidates can apply online on the official website of IGNOU @ignou.ac.in. IGNOU offers a BA English program for a duration of 3 years. The maximum duration of the course can be extended up to 6 years. Admission to the program is based on merit in the qualifying examination. In order to be eligible for admission to the IGNOU BA English program, candidates must have completed 10+2 with English from a recognised board.

Assignments constitute continuous evaluation. The marks that you secure in the assignments will be counted in your final result. As mentioned earlier, an assignment of a course carries 30% weightage. You are therefore advised to take your assignment seriously.
The TMA for each semester can be downloaded from the Student Zone of the University website. You have to complete the assignment within the due dates specified in the assignment booklet. You will not be allowed to appear for the term-end examination for any course if you do not submit the assignment in time for that course. If you appear in the term-end examination, without submitting the assignments, the result of the term-end examination is liable to be canceled.

BA English admission is done completely on the basis of aggregate marks of class 12 or BPP. The University has provided bachelor of arts under choice based credit systems. The programme is based on disciplinary, interdisciplinary and skill-based courses.

BA English if offered by IGNOU’s School of Humanities. BA English is based on choice based credit systems. One credit is equal to 30 hours of learner’s study time. In order to get a Bachelor’s Degree in English, the student has to complete 148 credits in six semesters.

The system of evaluation followed by the University is also different from that of conventional universities. The students are required to score at least 35% marks (Grade D) in both continuous evaluation (assignments) as well as the term-end examination of each course.

Opt for this course only if you are into novels and literature. Otherwise, it will be a monotonous ride. If you are planning to pursue BA English at IGNOU, you can conveniently work full time alongside. Instead of attending full-time classes, just sitting for a few will do it.
