IIT Guwahati M.A Liberal Arts: Fees 2025, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

For admission to an MA program, a candidate must satisfy the following criteria:

1. A Bachelor's (10+2+3) degree (Major/ Honours) or equivalent from a recognized University, in any discipline, with a minimum 6.0 CPI on a 10-point scale (or 60% marks) in major/honours only.
2. Candidates not having Major/Honours courses must have the concerned degree with a minimum 6.0 CPI on a 10-point scale (or 60% marks).

The CPI/Marks criteria will be relaxed by 0.5 CPI (or 5% marks) for SC/ST/PwD candidates.

The fee mentioned above includes the following hostel fees:

• Hostel Admission Fee : Rs 400
• Mess Establishment Charge : Rs 1,500
• Hostel Caution Money : Rs 4,000
• Mess Deposit : Rs 6,000
• Hostel Fund : Rs. 600 (Per Semester)
• Hostel Rent : Rs. 1,000 (Per Semester)
• Hostel Maintenance Charge : Rs. 3,000 (Per Semester)
• Electricity and Water Charges : Rs. 2,500 (Per Semester)
• Adjustable Mess Advance : Rs. 20,000 (Per Semester)

Note:-

• For SC/ST/PwD Students, there is NO Tuition Fee
• Tuition fee for Sponsored who are NOT serving as Teachers: Rs. 25,000/-
• Tuition fee for industry sponsored students: Rs. 5,00,000/- per semester.
• Postgraduate/Doctoral (under Self-Financed / Sponsored / Part-Time Categories) students: Rs. 25,000/- per semester
• PG/Doctoral (Sponsored): Rs. 3,00,000 (Non-SAARC countries), Rs. 1,50,000 (SAARC countries);
• PG/Doctoral (Self-Financed): Rs. 25,000 (Non-SAARC & SAARC countries);
• Semester Exchange PG/Doctoral Students (Not covered under MoUs): Rs. 25,000
