Assam Down Town University Admission 2024: Courses, Eligibility, Selection, Dates, Registrations

At UG level, Assam down town University offers courses leading to B. Tech, Integrated Dual degree courses like B.Tech + M. Tech & B.Tech + MBA degrees in the field of Engineering, Technology and Management to the aspiring students who want to pursue their career in the relevant field. The B.Tech courses are offered in multiple specializations with the duration period of four years. The university also provides a lateral entry in the B.Tech 2nd year for which the duration period is three years. The number of seats depend upon the nature of specializations as opted by the candidates.

Candidates seeking admission in the above mentioned courses are selected on the basis of marks scored in the last qualifying examination in the relevant discipline or with Maths as one of the subjects.

Admission in the B.Tech course is also done on the basis of marks obtained in Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Mains) conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria will only be entertained by the college. However, the candidates who are willing to appear in JEE Mains may visit the official website.

List of B.Tech courses:

At the UG level the university offers various courses such as Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc), Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA), Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM), Integrated BBA - MBA, Integrated BCA - MCA programmes. All the UG courses are offered with the duration period of three years except for the Integrated programmes.

Candidates must hold a Graduation level degree with a minimum 45% marks in aggregate from any recognized university, are considered eligible to apply in the concerned courses.

Candidates seeking admission in the above mentioned courses need to study and pass last qualifying examination in relevant discipline. The eligible candidates are selected on the basis of marks obtained in their last academic examination. The selection procedure will be held and conducted by the university.

Note: 5% relaxation of marks in eligibility will be given to the SC / ST candidates

List of UG courses:

Assam Down Town University offers several Medical courses at Undergraduate level. The programmes are offered under various different specializations. The number of seats and duration period depend upon the nature of specializations as opted by the candidates.

For all Allied Health Sciences Courses, selection is based on merit in the last qualifying examination in the relevant discipline. However, to get through the programmes, the candidates need to be a 10+2 pass out from a recognised institute and should combinedly scored the minimum percentage of marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology along with pass marks in English.

List of UG Medical courses:

For admission into the M.Sc programme, candidate need to hold a B.Sc degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 60% marks. To be eligible for MBA programme, candidates need to hold a Graduation degree in any stream with minimum 45% marks in aggregate.

Candidates who have successfully completed their Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline are eligible to seek admission. However, admission will be given on the basis of marks scored in last qualifying examination.

• Valid MAT scores will also be accepted for admission to the MBA programme
• 5% relaxation of marks in eligibility will be given to the SC / ST candidates

List of PG courses:

At postgraduate level, Assam Down Town University offers courses in the field of Medical Sciences, Nursing, Pharmaceutical Studies with various specializations each. The duration period for each of the specializations is two years. Apart from these courses, the university also offers Master of Science (M.Sc), Master of Social Work (MSW) in several specializations.

Admission to the above mentioned courses is done on the basis of merit in the pre-qualifying examination. However, in order to meet the eligibility criteria candidates must hold Graduate Degree in the relevant discipline from any recognized university.

Assam Down Town University also conducts Distance Educational courses at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate level in the field of Science and Business Administration under various different specializations. The duration period of the UG distance courses is three years while the PG distance course in Business Administration takes two years to complete its duration.

Admission to all the distance courses at ADTU is based on merit in the last qualifying examination.

Students seeking admission to MBA programme, who have appeared and secured a valid score in, any one of the State Level MBA/MMS-CET/GMAT/ CAT/MAT/ATMA/XAT/CMAT or equivalent entrance test at State or National Level, valid for the current Academic year, are also eligible for the programme.

List of Distance courses:

At the doctoral level, the university offers Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) programme under multiple specializations. The programme covers various disciplines like Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Basic Sciences, Management, Medical & Life Sciences and some subjects from Humanities. The Ph.D programme takes four to seven years to complete its duration period.

Candidates need to hold a Master’s Degree from any recognized University/ Institutions to be eligible for the Ph.D programmes.

Candidates seeking admission in the above mentioned courses need to sit for an Entrance examination. The eligible candidates are selected on the basis of merit in the entrance examination. The selection procedure will be held and conducted by the university.
