Bournemouth University is a public university located at Bournemouth, Dorset, in England and was founded as the Bournemouth Municipal College in the 20th century before becoming a fully-fledged university which was named Bournemouth University in 1992.

Bournemouth University Campus
- Bournemouth University operates with two campuses at Talbot and Lansdowne; both of them are located within the Bournemouth city. However, there are remote learning sites such as the Yeovil nursing campus, Portsmouth campus, partner colleges (at Wiltshire, Dorset, and Somerset) and fieldwork areas.

There are specific requirements for each program, but listed below are the basic minimum requirement for each program level.
Bachelor and Master’s degree: A minimum overall of 6.0 in IELTS Academic, with nothing lower than 5.5 in every four-element.
Research degree program: Overall minimum of 6.4 in IELTS academic with 5.5 minimum in all four elements
*No program requires any element or subsection scores above 6.5. However, the ones highlighted in brackets are due to the UKBA minimum English language requirements for a Tier 4 (General) Student Visa, which are still applicable.

- Examples of scholarships available to international students at BU are:
- Academic Excellence Scholarship: This is an automatic tuition fee discount given to international graduate students as entrance scholarships. The fee discount amounts to 3,500 GBP and a student has to apply to BU with a minimum of an upper second-class Honors degree from a United Kingdom university, or its equivalent to qualify for this scholarship
- Chevening Partner Scholarship scheme: Awarded as a tuition waiver in addition to other allowances, this scholarship is awarded to international students who are applying to study a full-time program in MSc Cyber Security and Human Factors or Masters of Arts in International Political Communication. Applicant must be an indigene of a Chevening-eligible country as of when applying and must agree to return to parent country upon program completion. The application is done online at the Chevening website.
- BU Music Scholarship: With a worth of 600 GBP, this is awarded to music students who can prove their talents in singing or music performance and must have been involved in a music ensemble at least once. The application is carried out online by August 1.
- Chevening Scholarship scheme: Sponsored by Chevening, this is awarded to international graduate students who are indigenes of Chevening-eligible countries. Applicants must intend to return to the parent country after completion of studies. Application is carried out online by August and the stipend comes in the form of tuition waivers and other allowances.
- BU Academic Excellence Scholarship: This is awarded as an entrance scholarship to international undergraduates who have achieved prominent achieved feats in the form of results. It carries an amount of 2,500 GBP.
