Business Psychology is the study of how an understanding of the psychology of human behaviour can be applied within business organisations to achieve more effective management practice. This programme from the University of Greenwich aims to provide you with knowledge, skills and understanding of business and management, in parallel with an insight into the psychology of individual and group behaviour at work. The programme equips future leaders and managers with the theoretical basis and practical skills to manage people effectively and to understand the dynamics of human interaction in the workplace.
You will also develop the ability to find practical solutions to people-related problems within organisations, examine the moral issues of work and explore developing areas in management and psychology. You will also acquire the communication and thinking skills demanded by employers.
Direct entry to Year 2 and 3 is available for qualified applicants. Students on this programme may apply to participate in overseas exchanges with our Erasmus partners.
The aims of the programme are:
- To acquire systematic knowledge and understanding of key theories and approaches to management and psychology
- To be able to identify issues, analyse situations and formulate solutions in business psychology, informed by academic knowledge and professional practice
- To develop personal skills in communication, presentation, research, analysis and problem solving in local and international contexts.

VISA & Work Study
Work Study
The following information is relevant for University of Greenwich students who hold a Student Visa:-
- Students can check if they are permitted to work in the UK by firstly looking at what is written on their Student Visa. If students are studying at degree level, they should find that the visa states that students are permitted to work a maximum of 20 hours per week during term time.
- If students are studying below degree level (for example if students are studying a foundation program), they should find that students are restricted to working a maximum of 10 hours per week during term time.
- If students visa states any of the following phrases this means that they are not permitted to work in the UK:
- No work
- Work prohibited
- If student’s visa does permit to work in the UK, they must not work more than the number of hours per week students are allowed, as this would be a breach of their immigration conditions and a criminal offense.
