This program develops and enhances students understanding of electronic engineering to an advanced level, setting them apart in their career.
Students will engage with technology that goes beyond silicon-based electronics to develop specialist knowledge and skills for emerging markets.
Students may already have a firm grasp of the essentials of the discipline; however, this program will provide them with a practical understanding of key areas of advanced electronic engineering. With links into a research portfolio that has been rated as internationally excellent, this program is guided by leading experts, including industry specialists.
Students will work with familiar technology like WiFi, and explore new innovative landscapes such as micro and nanostructures in sensory equipment and self-healing electronics for safety-critical systems.
The program has been developed to meet the demands of the contemporary electronic engineering landscape. Emerging markets such as smart grid, healthcare and medicine, energy, and environment are set to join established industrial sectors including security, transport, and aerospace, and as such, skilled Masters graduates are highly sought after.
Over the year students will explore a range of high-level topics, which will test their previous understanding while allowing them to develop a deeper understanding of electronics.
The technical element of the degree will involve students engaging with a range of technologies and topics, such as system-on-chip engineering; microengineering; RF engineering; control and instrumentation; and communications and embedded systems.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

Students must complete a 3-year bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited university.
Students with a 2:1 Hons degree (UK or equivalent) in a related engineering discipline with a significant amount of electronics content, which may include communications, electrical engineering, computer systems, and physics. An HND together with appropriate practical experience may also be acceptable.

Work Experience Eligibility:

Relevant work experience in any practicing Engineering position requiring the application of technical skills is desirable but not essential.

Indian Student Eligibility:

Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet the following eligibility criteria:

Bachelor's degree at least 3 years in length with at least 60% overall, with at least 55% in each year (year 2 onwards)

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
