The Classical Literature and CivilisationÊ programme offered by University of Birmingham is taught in the Department of Classics, Ancient History and Archaeology where you will have the opportunity to explore not only the classical civilisations of Greece and Rome, but also the cultures of Egypt and Ancient Western Asia, as well as the Byzantine Empire.Ê
You will learn in a variety of different contexts, such as lectures, seminars, interactive workshops, independent research and field trips. In your second year, with financial support from the University, you will have the opportunity to take up a unique two-week Study Tour where you will develop a research project and travel with fellow students to countries such as Italy and Greece to visit sites, monuments and museums of interest to you.
You will be supported by outstanding library resources, and have access to Departmental facilities including the Classics museum.Ê

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students should have Bachelor's degree (4 years) from a recognized university and institution.
- Higher Mathematics and Physics or Engineering Science.
- An average GPA of 3.5 or more.
Indian Student Eligibility:
- Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Students must have a minimum GPA of 65%-70%
- A four-year Bachelors degree (first-class or very good upper second class)
- Or A three-year Bachelor's degree (first-class) from recognized institutions in India.
- MSc programs the Business School will consider holders of three-year degree programs (first-class or very good upper second class) from recognized institutions in India.
- Standard English language requirements apply.
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/PTE any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
