Remarks :
The admission process is quite easy and JOSAA is responsible for the admission process one can get admission through JEE Advanced and details regarding cutoffs, and eligibility are available on the official website for JEE Advanced.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose this course because I'm interested in pursuing it and the faculty-to-student ratio is generally around 1:15 and the professors are highly qualified. The term exams are organised once in every 4 months and you can pass easily if you start preparing about 2 weeks before the commencement of exams.
Internships Opportunities :
Internship opportunities are generally available to the students from their 6th semester and there are eligibility criteria for the same. Students with CPI more than 7 are eligible the apply for internships. A no of companies visit the campus and the students are able to do foreign internships even.
Placement Experience :
Placements at IITK are really good and the Avg package for BTech students is around 28 LPA and the median salary is around 18 LPA. Generally, the students are eligible for campus placements in their fourth year and the internships can be availed from their 4th semester. A no of companies visit the campus and details about placements are available on the placements site of IITK.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Generally, the fee structure varies with the income of the student's parents. Information regarding fees and various scholarships is available on the IIT Kanpur website. PhD students also get stipends for their research and Mtech students do get stipends for the work they do on campus.
Campus Life :
There are three fests of IIT Kanpur namely UDGHOSH Sports Fest, ANTARAGNI Cultural fest, and TECHKRITI Technical and Entrepreneurship Fest. These are organized generally in October and March and the Library consists of various books related to academics and nonacademics. There are multiple clubs in IITK which you can find out on the official website and the amenities in classrooms are very good.
