Remarks :

First, we have to apply for that course through the admission portal 'msuis' 250-300/- registration fee is charged for most of the post-graduation courses. The application process starts from May to June. The entrance exam is conducted for the course. Anyone who has graduated with a BA/BSc in Geography is eligible for the course. Reservations are for UR/EWS/OBC/ST(P)/ST(H)/SC. The only improvement I want to see in the future is universities should include more entrance exam centers across the state.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Maharaja Sayajirao University has one of the best Geography courses and not many students know about it. It is one of the few universities that allows both BA and BSc geography students can apply and gain admission in MSc Geography. The geography department comes under the Faculty of Science and it is one of the disciplines and strict faculty of the university, The student ratio is also very high in the faculty. Professors are highly educated and knowledgeable. The teaching method is advanced as they follow the updated syllabus. Each classroom has a smart board/projector. Exams are conducted on time and paper pattern is sometimes quite tough but the way professors teach it is not that difficult to sail through exams and pass.

Internships Opportunities :

I did not take any internship during my course so I don't have much idea. But my friends from psychology, journalism, and law faculty did a few paid and unpaid internships and their experience was quite good and they were satisfied with their experience.

Placement Experience :

Placements are offered only in selected faculty. Engineering, Management, and Social Work faculty offer placement. The science department has placement but it is not very active. But students from other faculty get placed at good reputed companies. I have already graduated from college and did not opt for placement.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure is minimal it is 8500/- for girls and boys there is an addition of 1000-1200/- extra for a whole year. Students do not have to pay extra money for anything everything is included in the yearly fee. The hostel fee is 7000 + 3000 (security deposit refundable) = 10000/- for 1st year, and for the remaining year 7000/- has to be paid for a year. The university has its scholarship named the DSW scholarship for needy students, other scholarships under UGC and the State government are also there for students.

Campus Life :

University conducts its annual fest. Every faculty also has its own annual fest even departments also organise fest annually. Footprints is its annual tech fest. Fests are conducted in the months of January to March. There are thousands of books available at the university library, some departments have their own library and reading room for students and staff. Classrooms have basic amenities like desks, chairs, projector boards, monitors and speakers, dustbins, and notice boards. There are inter-faculty sports and extracurricular activities that are conducted at the university often. The geography department has its own club named Prakruti Young Geographers Club.

Hostel Facilities :

There are 4 Girls Hostel, 12 Boys Hostel and an international residential facility. Rooms are double, triple, and quadruple occupancy. Each Hostel has a common room, garden, mess, entertainment room(TV), washroom/bathroom, study table, chair, bed, and almirah provided by the hostel. There is a central canteen which is open 24hrs in both and boys and girls hostel campus along with that study room. Meal quality is good along with Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner there is running the canteen and the food is pure vegetarian. One has to pay each time they eat in the mess as the mess fee is not charged separately. 250/- is charged for hostel registration and after the hostel seat is confirmed by the faculty fee has to be paid for the first year fee is 10000/- out of which 3000/- is refundable as it is security money, and 7000/- is actual fee per year. I was a resident of the Hostel.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This course is a deep knowledge of biology. 1 teacher per 120 students. Some teacher qualifications in master's and PhD. And the exam was very difficult because the university really is 10%. But the teaching method is best.

A review to be read before applying

Placement Experience:

In the 3rd semester, companies conduct their drives for placements. Lots of companies visit the campus such as TCS, Accenture, Cognizant, DataVizz, Trellance and many more. Mostly entire batch got placed except for 2 3 students.

I choose THIS course because it is easy and a good opportunity for a future job All teachers has a good qualification and they have very much experience more than 13-14 years Term Exam every 6 months and exam is very easy you pass easily
