Remarks :
To get admission to this college you have to take Jee main examination. For general students, you have to rank around the 96 percentile for cse branch. now you have to sit in Josaa and if u are selected you may proceed to apply here. you can find the list of required things on IIIT Kalyani's official website. This college is government-funded so there is no criteria for reservation benefit. The admission process is pretty clean.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum follows the course of IIT Kharagpur. It is somehow more advanced than other colleges. It follows a very systematic process of teaching by many devoted faculty. Although the faculty: student ratio is pretty bad they help us very much. I chose CSE in this college because the coding culture is pretty good and a good review which I found on collegedunia website. The teachers are remarkably educated from many prestigious teaching institutes like IIT or JU. Although this college follows a relative grading system passing courses from this college is pretty hard.
Internships Opportunities :
Although our college doesn't provide the facility to avail internship they give us the freedom to do it anyway. They also allow us to violet the 75 % attendance criteria in 4th year with the allowance of an internship.
Placement Experience :
Students from the 6th semester are eligible to sit in the placement examination. Many companies like- jio MAQ, Infosys, Wipro, Vitusa, TCS, etc. Last year we got the highest package at 26.4 lpa and an average of 12.76 lpa.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
NO. Our college doesn't follow the fee hike policy. The cost of the study is pretty reasonable compared to other government and private colleges. Although our college doesn't have its own scholarship it helps us very much to get scholarships funded by govt. of West Bengal, govt. of Bihar, govt. of UP etc. They even give special scholarships to people with SC/ST, OBC, PWD, etc.
Campus Life :
The campus life in our institute is pretty healthy and friendly due to anti ragging policy. The seniors are friendly and helpful. As the real campus and college building are not ready it is impossible to conduct any tech fest or annual fest. Still from the last year our college is conducting a freshers party. The library has a significant variety of books but they are limited. To get the right book you have to come at the start of the semester. The classrooms are fully equipped with many technical amenities like whiteboard, projector, wifi, etc. As I mentioned before, we still don't have our very own campus, sports facilities are available in a limited manner in Kalyani Stadium arranged by our college. Our college has its own student-run clubs. These are Codecubes, Robotics Club, Groovz,Pixel, Udaan, etc. which are pretty active.
