ARSD Review

Remarks :

I did not face any difficulty during the admission process. Yes, when the results were out, the cut-off seemed quite high and the strength of people applying made me nervous. I got admission to my college in the second cut-off and after that, the application process and uploading documents went effortlessly.

Course Curriculum Overview :

This course was my second preference after Statistics Hons. But Stat Hons is available in lesser DU colleges and the cut-off is very high. There's an ample amount of professors in the Maths Department. The professors are well-qualified and have deep knowledge of their respective subjects. However, some professors lack the skill to keep the class engaged and make the subject interesting enough to study. The frequency of TERM EXAMS was quite absurd. Our batch had to take the first three semester exams every 4 months in order to match our timeline accordingly. This turned out to be very hectic for the students to attend. Professors were also rushing the studies to complete their target syllabus.

Internships Opportunities :

WTW had offered a job. The package offered was 12lakhs + benefits. KPMG had offered placements with the requirement of a BCom background. More companies that came were EY, Yamaha, and Zomato. I have knowledge of these companies only. I am not interested in getting placed through college. The placement cell of ARSD also organized an Internship Fair where many smaller companies came that were of interest to 2nd and 1st years offering 2-3 months of working experience. You could ask all doubts and submit your CV then and there only. That was really helpful for students seeking work but had no knowledge or previous experience. Also, there is a form to be filled and offered to companies. If the company finds you suitable they contact you through the placement cell of ARSD.

Placement Experience :

In particular, in my course, there are very less placements offered. Also, major companies coming to the college are near zero. Eligibility for the same is mentioned. Most are for third-year students.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

On a personal basis. I did not apply for Financial Aid, a Job, or a Scholarship through the college premises. So, I would be unable to give an opinion on the same. Recently there had been a small hike in the college fees. I personally did not face any issues regarding this. I feel the college fees and the cost of study are very economical and affordable to all. There is free study material available in the library for those not interested in buying.

Campus Life :

Annual fests are not up to the mark and need to be more profound as the students wait eagerly for the annual fest. Security should be tight and a type of gentry should be maintained and a code of conduct. The library is well-flooded with books that are in the syllabus. But there is less seating available considering the strength of students. Sports and extracurricular activities have recently been taken into account and have been improved. Though equipments for the same are not available much. Societies work explicitly well but there is less support through college and more effort put in personally by students. Funds are not well arranged to boost the activities done by societies.

Bsc Hons CS toughness is moderate. One has to do hard work to score well, which we have to do in any course. But with a little bit of dedication and consistency, one must score very well in the exam.
