Beyond the Brochure: Unveiling the Real College Experience

Remarks :

I had to take JEE Mains in order to qualify for JEE Advance, where I received a CRL of 2201 and was accepted into the Chemical Engineering Department at IIT Delhi through JOSAA Counseling. The JOSAA website included the application form and all the necessary information, along with a highly thorough timetable. The process was a little frantic because I had to choose between Branch and College and what would be the greatest option, which required a lot of pondering. After JOSAA Counseling, IIT Delhi needed to complete a few procedures to authenticate the candidate, which went very well. IIT Delhi provided us with offline orientation and then my college life started.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The positive comments I heard from several seniors about how "chill" this branch was my primary motivation for picking this course. At my level, I had to choose between branch and college, which was a really tough decision. However, when I saw that the Chemical branch offered a well balanced schedule that would allow me plenty of time to hone my talents, I was inspired to choose it. The professors here are exceptionally knowledgeable and skilled in their field. They do a variety of studies here and are sufficiently qualified to be well-known internationally. There are three types of exams: quiz, minor, and major. Professor-related quizzes can occur at any time, whereas minors and majors only appear in the middle and conclusion of each semester, respectively. They are clearly written in the IIT Delhi academic schedule.

Internships Opportunities :

Multinational corporations, start-ups, research institutions, and governmental agencies are just a few of the businesses and organizations that IIT Delhi frequently works with. Google, Microsoft, Amazon, BHEL, and many other well-known companies have in the past provided internships to IIT Delhi students. The IIT Delhi offers internships in a range of disciplines, such as software development, research, engineering, management, finance, and more. These positions could be found in disciplines like computer science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and others. Many of the internships provided by IIT Delhi pay students a stipend. The company, the type of work, and the length of the internship can all have a significant impact on the stipend amount. Additionally, some internships might provide housing and transportation. Projects for internships at IIT Delhi can take many different forms and be difficult.

Placement Experience :

Students start to be eligible for campus placements in their seventh semester. We have OCS, which maintains data on all the businesses. Numerous large businesses visit IIT Delhi and make ten to fifteen offers. Some Quantitative Research Organizations provide high packages but few offers. The average amounts to about 15 LPA and the highest to about 3.5Cr. 30% of students have other ambitions, such as entrepreneurship, business, or higher education, while the remaining 70% of students are placed. We can apply for internships in our third year, and some students receive PPOs with respectable pay from these internships.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The official website of IIT Delhi provides a detailed description of the fee structure. A typical student's LPA for a year is roughly 2.5. I'm unsure of the exact fees that members of the reserved group must pay, but I can state that they have a well-reduced amount to pay. We also provide a number of scholarships to students who meet certain requirements. If they meet these requirements, they are qualified to apply and can submit their application. Scholarships are a fantastic way for children with limited parental income to lessen the financial strain on their parents, my buddy received one, so I can attest that it really does happen.

Campus Life :

At IIT Delhi, life is both excellent and stressful in a good manner. We have a 300-acre campus, which is large enough for college living, and we have monthly events that keep us busy. Nearly all books are available in a central library where you may study without any issues. All classrooms feature air conditioning, a sufficient number of chairs, and a range of sizes. There are just too many groups available for students to join and discover their interests. All clubs, including BSW, FACC, and BHM, are administered solely by students here.

Hostel Facilities :

Beds, almirahs, study tables, and chairs with high-quality electrical circuit boards are all standard in hostel rooms. In a space with two fans, there are two windows. Although they don't supply mattresses, they do offer the option to purchase one at the time of orientation. This mess is passable—not great, but passable. We have a mess secretary who oversees our monthly rotating menu. The registration process is simple; all that is required is for the caregiver to sign the H1–H5 forms. About 60k is spent on housing per semester. We may form strong ties with other hostellers due to our proximity, which makes it a wonderful experience.

Placement Experience:

In this competitive era, preparing yourself for campus placements is the most pivotal part of education. Earlier, most of the students ignored the significance of the campus placements and waved goodbye to the opportunities of getting selected by the company. But now, every year, you can observe hundreds of students taking active participation in the campus placement process. One of the advantages of campus recruitment is the assurance of stable job profiles in reputed companies. In India, the majority of campus recruitment companies often lower their hiring criteria for entry-level employment. However, if you are applying through an Off-campus or Pool campus placement drive. In that case, there’s much more than technical knowledge required to clear the interview as the scale of competition increases.
