Remarks :
To be eligible for the course a student must have scored above 55 percent in class 12th and above 60 marks in the particular subject of choice he or she wishes to take up for further studies. The application form for admission is available in the college. You must visit the college and seek the application form from the official of the academic section. For submission of the application form, students have to stand in long queues. If the admission process had been made online students could have been relieved a little.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose the BA English Hons course as I liked the subject. And I wish to establish a career in the same field as a researcher, critic and writer. Though I could not become a researcher yet. Currently, I am a UG teacher in a public school. There were nearly 60 students in the same batch of the same course. There were 4 faculty members and out of them, two had Doctorates while rest two were NET qualified. At present, there are probably 6 faculty members - 2 Doctorates, 3 NET qualified and 1 guest faculty with Masters. All are quite experienced and thus efficient as well. The rapport between the faculties and students is great and they are very friendly. Semester exams were held in the months of March and September every year for the respective semesters. Term exams were held on time as well. The question papers varied from moderate to tough and were easy on very rare occasions.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Yearly fees for the course I chose were 8500 which hiked up to 10,000 at present. Scholarship schemes like Ishan Uday, B.R Ambedkar scheme and scholarships for STs, SCs and OBCs were available. Minor jobs like getting enrolled in the medical assistance team or the disaster management team are available for small stipends.
Campus Life :
NSM Alumni Festival is celebrated in October of every year and Foundation Day is in May. Tech fests are celebrated more than once a year. There is no predetermined schedule for this. All sorts of latest books and journals of renowned authors, poets and researchers are available in the library and students can borrow for one week to a month. Sports competitions and cultural events are part of the Annual Week program which is held in May, a few days after the Foundation Day celebration.
