It will be difficult to get into colleges such as FMS, XLRI, and MDI with less than 60% in 12th. But it’s achievable. FMS assigns 10% weight to 10+2 scores. So, if you manage to score around the 99.5 percentile in CAT, you will have a chance of getting shortlisted. You need to perform well in the GD-PI round as well. XLRI and MDI assign 15% weight to past academics and work experience.

So, try to work on your profile by adding extra-curricular activities. Also, prepare well for entrance tests and the GD-PI round.

There are a few scenarios you can consider when it comes to figuring out whether any of these colleges will accept you.

As far as FMS is concerned, it does not give any weightage to your profile or even any work experience. Therefore, if you are planning to apply here, you will need to have at least a 99.5 percentile in CAT. Most importantly, you should be good at extempore and your personal interview should go well too.

When it comes to MDI, it emphasizes on CAT score but with at least a 99 percentile. You will also have to ensure that you have a good GD and a personal interview. All this combined together will probably ensure that you can crack getting admitted there.

Additionally, if you have participated in any fests or won any competitions during your graduation, there are chances that your application will be considered. However, if that is not the case, it will be quite tough to get in.

A lot of other mediocre B-schools are also interested in extra-curricular activities and a well-balanced profile is the one that gets selected. However, if you did not do many extra-curricular activities, it could get quite difficult to crack most B school interviews.
