How are hostels at MNNIT Allahabad for 1st year?

The hostels allotted to first-year B.Tech boys at MNNIT Allahabad is a new building, and so it is better than the hostel allotted for girls. For girls, the Kamla Nehru Girls Hostel is allotted to first-year students, mostly for B.Tech and few MBA and MCA students. 

The points below give a brief overview of the KNGH, along with its advantages and disadvantages.

• KNGH is an old building, which is located in the colony area campus, close to the Health Centre, faculty apartments, and EDC guesthouse.
• The rooms of KNGH are two-shared. In total, it has an accommodation of about 500-600 girls.
• The rooms, corridors, and washrooms of the hostel are regularly cleaned by the workers.
• The food provided in the hostel mess is decent. There is a night-canteen situated in the hostel too. The mess also provides evening snacks to students.
• For regular useful things, a general store is also present inside the hostel premises.
• There is a large common room with big wall mirrors and television for recreation inside the hostel.
• The hostel also has two badminton courts in a big courtyard. There are table tennis, badminton rackets, carrom boards, and several other sports equipment in the hostel.
• There is no problem with water supply and electricity inside the hostel, except in the time of some severe natural disaster.
• There is a mini-library inside the hostel for first-year girls only, who are not allowed to issue books from the college library.
• The hostel celebrates different social and religious festivals like Diwali, Holi, etc inside the campus, mostly in its courtyard.
• There is a problem of excessive cats roaming inside the hostel, and even inside rooms.
• Most water coolers inside the hostel are non-operational but better than those of the boys’ hostel.
• There are a lot of insects, especially in the rainy season.

Living in such a hostel, making friends, and cherishing life with peers is what a student gets from such a campus, and makes memories out of it. So, small rooms, and certain other problems don’t matter much for students to stay in the hostel for the valuable years of study.
