How is the student life at IIFT Delhi and Kolkata?

As a student at IIFT Delhi, my brother vouches that campus life is pretty good there. These are some of the following points to get a gist of what you might experience once you get there.

• Your lectures will be scheduled between 9.15 am and 6.30 pm but even then, it’s quite uncommon to have consecutive classes all day. Post lectures, there is usually enough work to keep you occupied well into the night (depending on how serious you are about studies).
• In the evenings, you can always find people playing football, volleyball, basketball, or badminton on campus even though sports facilities on campus are somewhat lacking.
• At night, you can find people unwinding in groups in their hostel rooms, with a bottle or two. When corporate competitions come up, you will also come across people burning the midnight oil in the acad block (which is air-conditioned unlike the hostel rooms, making it a popular haunt during the miserable Delhi summers).
• On weekends, you can head to pubs and clubs at the nearby SDA Market or Hauz Khas Village to party. Many people also head off on weekend getaways to nearby tourist spots like Shimla, Jaipur, or Rishikesh. But nothing gets better than the parties at the college atrium - Freshers, Reverse Freshers & Farewell!

In short, campus life here at IIFT is what you make of it. The course structure and curriculum here give you more than enough opportunity to unwind/slack off while still maintaining a decent grade point.
