Being ranked 93 for engineering in India by NIRF 2020, PES University offers a B.Tech degree in EEE which majorly focuses on aspects like devices, power electronics, control theory; signal processing. The department has 15 experienced faculties along with several visiting professors from national institutes.

RVCE is ranked 70th by NIRF for Engineering. It offers a 4 years BE degree in telecommunication offering core specializations in Networking, Wireless Communications, Signal Processing, and Embedded Systems.

Admission:

PES University:

  • PES University considers K-CET, JEE main or PESSAT scores during the admission process.
  • KCET rank falling under 920 can assure you a place in the EEE branch.
  • Cutoff for 2A, 3A, SC, ST categories is 2864, 1650, 15482 and 8722 respectively.
  • PESU offers 120 seats in the EEE branch with an annual Tuition fee of 3.3 lakhs.’

RVCE:

  • One must clear KCET to get admitted to RVCE.
  • Scoring a rank under 1403 can fetch you a place in the telecommunication branch at RVCE.
  • Cutoff in 2019 for students under 2A, 3A, SC, ST categories are 5077, 3639, 22375 and 19302 respectively.
  • RVCE offers 60 seats with the fee of 2LPA

Placement statistics:

PES University:

  • Core companies visiting campus are very few which includes Aircel, Dell India, Motorola, Honeywell, LG Electronics. Thus most of the students from the telecommunication branch land up in IT sectors.

Aspirants must decide which college is best for them as per their passion towards the subjects. Comparatively, the telecommunication branch has less opportunities in RVCE or anywhere in India in general. It must be noted that if you aim for higher studies by clearing GATE, EEE has an upper hand as there is no paper for telecommunication thus aspirants must attend ECE paper.
