R.V. College of Engineering, Bangalore was established in the year 1963. It is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi. RVCE is famous for its 4-year BE course which is offered in 12 specializations. Interested applicants who belong to Karnataka are offered admission into the course based on the KCET score. However, selection of students belonging to other states depends upon COMEDK score.

The minimum requirement for applying is mentioned as follows:
- Candidates must have passed class 12th with at least 65% in Mathematics and Physics separately.
- Also, they must have obtained at least 70% marks in Maths and Science separately.

- For selecting candidates, R V College of Engineering considers the score of KCET exam for those who belong to the state of Karnataka.
