According to some of the reviews of Haldia Institute of Technology online, I got to know some things, which might answer your question.

There are a lot of popular companies such as Infosys, Wipro, Regalix, Cognizant, Paramatrix, Tech Mahindra visiting the college for placements.
The packages offered to the students by them are really low.
The salary offered by the IT companies ranges from 2.5 LPA to 4 LPA and the average salary offered is around 3 LPA.
The salary offered by the core companies of mechanical, electrical, and civil branches ranges from 1.2 LPA to 4.2 LPA.
Only the students from respective departments are allowed to sit in interviews for companies like HPCL, Eveready, JBS, Philips Carbon, etc.
Some management companies such as Extramarks, Byjus, etc. who visit the campus for interviews to select candidates for sales positions offer packages ranging from 5 LPA to 7 LPA.
The salary offered especially to CSE, Mechanical, Civil students are very less compared to some other colleges.
These engineering students struggle a lot throughout their 4 years by paying hefty amounts of fees and then receiving much less salary.

Hence, the salary offered to the students of Haldia Institute of Technology compared to other colleges are less. Though the companies visiting the campus for interviews are very popular and reputed.
