When considering whether choosing UIT-RGPV for a Bachelor of Engineering is a bad decision or not, it all depends on what you expect from the college. You may not receive the same level of placements as that of IITs, NITs, or even top private colleges, but you will have a lot of free time at your disposal, which you can use to acquire maximum knowledge. You'll have fewer classes to attend, so if your aim is to prepare for higher studies instead of taking a job directly after college, then the college will be highly beneficial for you.

To make the most of your time at UIT-RGPV, you should work hard for a year and try to secure admission into one of the highly reputed national importance colleges, such as NITs or IITs. This way, you'll be taking a proactive approach to your education and setting yourself up for success in the future.

Studied at University Institute of Technology, RGPV (2017)

One of my friends had graduated in Computer Science Engineering from UIT RGPV. Here are some positive facts regarding the institute:

  • In comparison with other engineering colleges in Bhopal including MANIT, the fee structure is quite low.
  • There is less pressure regarding the attendance policy of the college. You can utilize the time in learning new things.
  • UIT RGPV has an edge over other private colleges in terms of campus placements. TCS is the largest recruiter in the campus placements. It exempts all students with greater than a 75% average score from appearing in the written aptitude test and directly promotes them for the second round which is a technical interview.
  • Apart from TCS, few other companies also visit the campus and conduct open campus drives.

Check some disadvantages of studying BE at UIT RGPV:

  • The quality is education is not up to satisfaction. The course curriculum focuses more on the theory. There are regular theory classes but not practical classes.
  • There is a lack of infrastructure and labs when compared to other colleges. Labs equipment is not maintained.
  • The institute does not offer many extracurricular activities such as Techfest. There are few cultural and literary groups that organize some events.

The choice of selecting any college depends on you. It is important to keep in mind that UIT is no different than any other college in Bhopal. You can join UIT but do not keep any expectations. You must work hard and use your time wisely.
