Pointer is the result of both internal marks and end semester marks. Internal marks carry your best of two mid-sem marks, quiz, assignment, and most importantly practicals. Whereas end semester marks only carry marks in the end semester examination.
Internal marks have more importance in SGPA. To achieve good pointers means to excel in both internal and end-semester marks.

If you follow the above tips you will end up with a very good SGPA. However, keep in mind that your CGPA is not an indicator of your real potential, but having a decent pointer would surely help you in campus placements. Keep on polishing your technical knowledge.
