Which should I prefer Jadavpur University IT or NIT Durgapur CSE?

Comparing Jadavpur University and NIT Durgapur is illogical and the same as comparing oranges and apples. Both the colleges have their unique strengths and weaknesses. Consider the following points becoming making the decision

If you value quality education over brand value and NIT Tag, then choose Jadavpur.
Both colleges are at a similar level in terms of placements, faculties, and academics. In fact, the companies visiting for placements are also almost the same.
Jadavpur University does not have provision for in-campus hostel facilities. This might be a major issue for some

So if you are ready to stay outside the campus and have no interest in the NIT tag then choose Jadavpur but if you want a NIT degree then choose NIT Durgapur.

You should prefer Jadavpur University IT. The university is widely reputed and offers better placement opportunities.

During the 2021 placement drive, the average CTC offered to IT students at JU was INR 13.5 LPA. IT and software was the sector with the highest placement average, i.e. 37%. The total course fee for the B.E IT at JU is INR 9.6 K. So, the ROI is great.

In Eastern India, JU is the best college for CSE and IT courses, in the non-IIT category.

IT and CSE are two quite interrelated streams but the choice of college can be made upon certain primary factors such as Fees; placement rates in respective fields; and top recruiters in the field.

Jadavpur University offers IT stream coupled with following conditions:

Course fees are Rs.9600.
The course contains merely 22 seats every year.
The eligibility criterion stands at 10+2 with 45% and entrance score of WBJEE.

NIT Durgapur University offers CSE stream and is counted among the top institutes of the country. The prominent details are as follows:

Course fees is Rs.5.56 lakhs.
The eligibility criterion is 10+2 with 75% and JEE Main score among the top bracket .
