Although Christ University has a huge reputation nation-wide, it is mainly known for its management and undergraduate programs.
I decided to pursue my B.Tech from Christ, but I found out that this institution is not the best option in Bangalore for engineering studies. After a lot of research and consultation with my friends, I have curated a list of good engineering colleges in Bangalore which you can consider for your B.Tech.
Here is the list-
Christ is well known in the industry, but it does not have any standing in the job market for engineering courses. It offers average level B.Tech courses. Thus, I would recommend you consider other good engineering colleges in Bangalore for a B.Tech instead of opting for Christ.
For a B.Tech, Christ Univesity isn’t suitable. The faculty of Engineering was established recently and there are a lot of issues that the institute needs to address. Most of the faculties are just out of post-graduation and don’t have much experience in teaching.
Some departments like Mechanical and Automobile etc. have a good focus on research. While core departments like Electrical don’t have a good research interface.
Other than CSE, the placement record isn’t good for most engineering branches. Christ University placement 2022 shows the average CTC for engineering branches to be around INR 6-9 LPA.
The university campus is located on the outskirts of Bangalore.
Christ University, Bangalore isn’t a good option for a B.Tech degree. The placement record of the institute is average. The placement opportunities are limited for branches other than CS. According to the recent trends of Christ University placements, the average CTC offered is INR 4-5 LPA.
The university is pretty strict regarding attendance rules. 85% attendance is mandatory. The campus is on the outskirts of the city, which causes problems with transportation.
B.Tech at Christ University is a 4-year programme and the course fee is around 7.5 lakhs. For admission, one has to appear for CUET or should have a valid JEE Main score. The basic eligibility is class 12th pass with science stream and minimum 45% percentage. The selection criteria includes qualifying exam score, Group discussion and written test (If applicable).
