Both IIT Gandhinagar and IIT Bhubaneswar are among the 2nd generations of IIT and according to 2020 NIRF Ranking they are ranked quite close- IIT Bhubaneswar(22) and IIT Gandhinagar(24). This indicates both these IITs are almost at the same level in terms of infrastructure, academics, sports facilities, and other extracurriculars.
IIT Gandhinagar has a better teacher-student ratio of 1:10 as compared to IIT Bhubaneswar. The 2019 placement highlights indicate the civil branch had an 89% placement rate at IIT Bhubaneswar and the average placement package offered was around 11.4 LPA.
