For Civil Engineering, IIT Roorkee will be a better option compared to IIT Delhi. It used to be a Civil Engineering college, before becoming an IIT. It is also one of the oldest Civil Engineering colleges on the continent. Naturally, IIT Roorkee has a better brand name in the Civil Engineering industry. Students of the branch get a lot of opportunities to visit and practice in nearby industry projects.

The highlights of IIT Roorkee Civil Engineering placements show the placement rate is 90%. The highest CTC goes up to INR 35 LPA.

Among these two IIT Roorkee is a better choice compared to IIT Delhi. IIT R used to be a Civil Engineering college before it became an IIT. It is one of the oldest Civil Engineering Colleges on the continent. As a student of IIT Roorkee, you will have many chances to visit or participate in nearby projects.

IIT Roorkee Civil Engineering Placements - In 2021, the average CTC offered to this branch was INR 13 LPA. Top recruiting companies were Larsen & Toubro, HUC, etc.

If we look at the placement stats of both IIT Delhi and IIT Roorkee for Civil, the packages are not very high in comparison with other branches such as Computer science. The average package offered at both places for Civil is around INR 4-5 LPA.

The department of civil engineering at IIT Delhi is known as the “Chillest branch”. You can score around 7 CGPA just by studying one week before the exams. However, you might not be getting a good place on campus placements, the companies may just reject the application form. This is one of the main reasons why the placements in IIT Delhi for Civil branch is so low. Students are left for other options such as MBA or IAS/IES. The professors are good enough and liberal in the Civil department.

Students choosing IIT Delhi over IIT Roorkee may be controversial for some but it is an honest suggestion. The environment is very impressive at IIT Delhi for studies as well as Personality Development. But both of these require hard work and dedication from your side. The quality of education is better in IIT Delhi as they have great labs and ample equipment for research.

As long as you continue the hard work, you will be able to grow and prosper in life. You will receive wonderful opportunities for growing knowledge, wealth and an absolute environment for yourself.
