How good is the Computer Science program at IIT Bombay?

One of my friends is a 3rd year CSE student at IIT Bombay, so this answer will be based on his experience.

IIT Bombay is one of the best institutes for a program in computer science in India. Apart from its excellent curriculum, the institute is known for having the best faculty in our country for CSE and provides immense exposure, giving you the best educational experience.

Academics:

• The institute initiates practical learning through multiple live projects and assignments through the semester which make a great addition to your resume.
• The curriculum also offers numerous lab courses, which promotes practical and experiential learning.
• Some of my friends have complained about academic pressure which can be looked at as a negative aspect of the institute. However, various people take it as a challenge.

Faculty:

• The faculty members are highly regarded as they come from very experienced academic backgrounds and bring a strong and supportive perspective to the CSE program. 
• They hold PhD and Masters degrees from top international Universities in the world.

Student Life:

• Being located in a city like Bombay, there are lots of opportunities to meet new people, experience metropolitan city life and intern with a multitude of companies. 
• There is also a strong presence of startup culture which helps students gain a new perspective on business.
• Since the JEE cut-off for IITB CSE is nearly 50, which by default means that your fellow batchmates are all good competitors, thereby offering a diverse and academic environment.

Infrastructure:

IIT Bombay has modern and updated infrastructure with well-designed classrooms and practical labs, best quality lecture and seminar halls, high speed Wi-Fi access all across the campus with great connectivity.

Placement:

The placements at IIT Bombay are great with major top companies as part of their recruitment process. It also has an extremely strong alumni network with students working in leading companies across the world.

JEE ranks have an advantage when it comes to securing internship offers. Some of the top recruiters within the CSE branch are Accenture, Adobe and Samsung.

However, you must study hard and aim for IITB as it is the best college for CSE in India.
