Hostel rooms at IIT Kharagpur are well-equipped to provide a comfortable living to students. There are a total of 24 halls of residence for girls and boys with different accommodation facilities. All rooms are equipped with basic furnishing and internet connectivity.

Strict security services are always provided with wardens, managers and supervisors administering the hostel. Hall members provide catering to some halls while the remaining halls outsource the meals through private agencies. The total hostel fee breakdown at IIT Kharagpur is in the table below.
