Is BITS Pilani better than the NITs?

According to the NIRF 2023 Engineering Ranking, BITS Pilani has achieved a national ranking of 25 among all engineering institutions in India. Which is better than the following NITs:

• Malaviya National Institute of Technology
• National Institute of Technology Silchar
• Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur
• National Institute of Technology Durgapur
• National Institute of Technology Delhi
• National Institute of Technology Patna etc.

Comparing NITs and BITS Pilani, NITs have lower fees because they're government-run, making them more affordable. NITs are well-known across India with 31 campuses, while BITS, a private institution, has four campuses including one in Dubai, and is known in the Middle East as well.

In terms of facilities, NITs have more seats, but BITS has a better infrastructure and staff. BITS offers better hostel facilities, even AC rooms, compared to NITs. While both offer good placements, some NITs like NIT Trichy excel in certain branches like CSE. Companies like Wipro, John Deere, and Sterlite visit BITS, while NITs see recruiters like Microsoft, Deloitte and Amazon. 

Overall, both the institutions offer similar placement opportunities, but some NITs may have a slight advantage in certain branches, while BITS provides better infrastructure and hostel facilities.
