Which is better, IIT BHU CSE or IIEST SHIBPUR CSE?

IIT BHU CSE is a better option. It offers better placements. IIT BHU placements are amazing for CSE. Around 100% of students of the branch get placed with an average CTC of around INR 25 LPA. While the highest CTC offered is around INR 1.5 CPA. Companies such as Google, Microsoft, Facebook visit the campus placements frequently. 

Being an IIT it also offers better facilities. The campus life of IIT BHU is also comparably better. 

Before we jump into the conclusion as to which of the above-mentioned colleges are better, we must compare both the institutes on certain grounds/parameters. As for the rankings, IIEST Shibpur is ranked 20th in India by NIRF in 2019, whereas, IIT BHU is ranked 9th in India by NIRF in 2019.

• In 2019, the closing cut-off for CSE at IIT BHU was 509. The closing cut-off for CSE at IIEST Shibpur was 4978 - 9379 for the year 2019.
• For admission to both IIT BHU and IIEST Shibpur, the aspirants must have passed 10+2 in the Science stream with 75% marks and for selection one has to take JEE Advanced exam.

Fees:

• The total fee structure for IIT BHU is INR 2.28 Lakhs for 1st year.
• IIEST Shibpur charges a total of INR 1,36,500 for 1st year.

Placement: 

• Headed by a Renowned Ex IIT Director, IIEST Shibpur got the highest placement record of 72% in CSE, last year. 
• In the case of IIT BHU, the average placement recorded was 71%. Some of the major recruiters that visit JP Morgan, Microsoft, Bajaj, Samsung, HP, VISA, Adobe, Amazon, CISCO, OYO, American Express.

Thus, students can apply for any of the two colleges keeping in mind the above-mentioned comparisons. IIT BHU and IIEST Shibpur are the two most renowned colleges in India. However, in terms of standard of college, we can conclude that IIT BHU is better as it is placed at a much higher rank and offers better placement than IIEST Shibpur. Placement rates are almost similar for both the institutes. Though the highest salary package differs a lot.
