No, there is no minor degree concept in IIT BHU, yet. But if you have an interest, you can pursue it, irrespective of your branch. The institute offers open electives to students after the 4th and 8th semesters. You can choose an elective from the list of your steam elective or non-steam elective list. These electives are offered based on CGPA.

There are no minor degree courses in IIT BHU and it is a big disappointment for the students. There are many students who have an inclination towards the courses of other branches. This would have been a problem 8-10 years ago. But today technology and fast internet connection have solved this. There are numerous universities that are providing minor degree courses. All these courses are available on online platforms. So, students nowadays are not facing any problems while pursuing a course out of their syllabus.

However, IIT BHU has also provided some provisions on this matter. The institute gives the students a chance to pursue their interests in courses of other branches. There are open elective subjects available for students. A student can opt for these courses after the 4th semester up to the 8th semester. But the students also have to fulfill certain criteria to select their desired course.

The allotment of these courses is according to the CGPA of a student. Some courses are in high demand so there would be a lot of competition. This is analogous to the scene while choosing a branch. For example, students with good JEE ranks get admission to the Computer Science branch. In a similar way, the college assigns these courses according to the CGPA of students.

Thus there are no minor degree courses available. But there are many opportunities to pursue our interests. This modern age of technology and the Internet has made it possible for us. Many renowned professionals and college professors have their online courses. These help students to meet their desired skills.
