TG
Tiyasa Ghosh Posted On : June 17th, 2021
PGDM - Business Analytics from Balaji Institute of Modern Management (2019)

One of my close friends is studying MBA from BIMM Pune. Unquestionably, BIMM Pune is considered among the top 11 B-schools by TOI B-School Survey.

The fee of BIMM has been kept nominal so that the students from all financial backgrounds can take admission. Thus, the college provides a good ROI.

The fee structure for 2021-23 are as follows:

Particulars

First Year

Second Year

1st Installment

2nd Installment

3rd Installment

4th

Instalment

Academic Fees

50,000

2,00,000

1,95,000

4,10,000

Alumni Fees

25,000

Refundable Caution Deposit

10,000

Total Fees

50,000

2,00,00

2,30,000

INR 4,10,000

Moreover, the fees of all the four institutes of BIMM are quite similar but differs in the specializations selected.

Is it worth joining NMIMS for an MBA?

AD
Abhilasa Debnath Posted On : July 3rd, 2021
MBA BM, XLRI (2018)

Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) is a premier B-School of India and it's worth every penny. If you are a dedicated MBA aspirant, this is one of the best choices you can opt for. My sister recently completed her MBA from NMIMS and here’s what she has to say.

Pros:

  • Great industry exposure and corporate tie-ups
  • Great infrastructure and facilities
  • Great placement records
  • You will get a brand tag of NMIMS which will help you throughout your career.

Cons:

  • The fees are fairly high for most middle-class students.
  • Only 15% of the total students get hostel facility and you will be given preference only if you hail from outside the city.
  • Some professors are not up to the mark.

It is best recommended to look out for a college that fulfills your criteria. NMIMS is indeed a great choice due to its excellent infrastructure, industry exposure, and placement. However, the expensive fee structure and accommodation issues might be a concern for many. In the end, the choice is all yours.

Where shall I pursue my MBA, Welingkar Mumbai or IIM Jammu?

AJ
Arshit Jain Posted On : January 11th, 2023
MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Jammu (Graduated 2019)

You should pursue an MBA at IIM Jammu. Your decision in this case should be influenced by the IIM's strong reputation for quality and the respect you receive from those around you. The following are the reasons behind the same:

  • Money is always a motivator for candidates to pursue their dreams, allowing them to dream bigger. In both institutes, the package is nearly identical. It can vary, but if you are an intelligent candidate in both institutes, you can safely assume more than the 10LPA package.
  • If not for a better package, it could be for learning business models, getting structured thought processes, starting your own business, or making the right business connections.
  • IIM Jammu has strong ties with all HR professionals in the industry. It holds a variety of events at the institute on a regular basis. Students may participate in community activities.
  • It has also partnered with Entrepreneurship cells and top business people in J&K to connect you with the right people. You have a fantastic library, a fantastic curriculum, and, of course, a fantastic environment in which to feel happy and positively imbibe what you are taught and experienced into your brain and heart.

Without a doubt, IIM Jammu is a perfect platform for one to enjoy and live in a very peaceful and aesthetic place, with nice people around you, while maintaining professionalism. It has a cultural festival, a sports festival, numerous fun events, celebrations, and so on that, you will remember for the rest of your life.

Which course is better: a 2-year PGDM in distance learning at NMIMS or a PGDM in distance learning executive at IMT Ghaziabad?

AH
Atul Harwani Posted On : April 12th, 2021
PGDM from Tolani Institute of Management Studies (2018)

You should definitely think of applying to NMIMS for PGDM in distance learning as compared to IMT Ghaziabad. There are various reasons for the same. In my opinion, you should look at the brand of the college, personal growth, quality, and expenses like fees that you may incur when it comes to choosing between the two.

Let me elaborate on these and a few other points below.

  • Brand Value: The distance learning PGDM program at NMIMS has always been recognized as a brand. It is always better to study from a brand institute as compared to a non-brand one. You might have to shell out a little more money, but it will ultimately help you in the future.
  • Professional Growth and Industrial connections: If you are particularly looking to boost your professional resume or would like to grow in your company, doing an MBA definitely does make sense. However, in my opinion, you should not just do a PGDM from any college. If you are looking for professional growth, you can bank upon NMIMS with your eyes closed.
  • Affordable: The program is quite affordable. If you are an ambitious student, you will be able to get the most out of this program without shelling out too much money.
  • Quality and Personal Growth: In order to have good prospects after your degree, you need to have the correct knowledge. You might get into an average college thinking you are getting the correct education when in reality, that might not be the case. If your concepts are not clear, it will further hamper your actions in the future and could affect your personal growth.
  • Exposure: If you plan to move abroad post the degree, it is necessary to earn the degree from a recognized institute. If you choose NMIMS PGDM, you will have worldwide recognition.

Thus, NMIMS is much better as compared to IMT Ghaziabad and my strong recommendation would be for this college.

What are my chances of getting into good IIMs, FMS, IIFT, or XLRI with 80% in 10th, 64% in 12th and a 6.2 CGPA in engineering?

AD
Ankit Dasgupta Posted On : April 26th, 2023
studied Business Management at XLRI

Getting admission to top B-schools like the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), or XLRI is highly competitive. While your academic scores may not be the best, it's not impossible to get admission if you perform well in other areas.

Here are some factors that may affect your chances of admission:

  1. CAT/GMAT Score: The Common Admission Test (CAT) or Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is the first step to get admission to these B-schools. You need to score well in these exams to get shortlisted for the next round of selection.
  2. Work Experience: Many of these B-schools prefer candidates with work experience. If you have relevant work experience, it can improve your chances of getting admission.
  3. Extracurricular Activities: Apart from academics, these B-schools also look for candidates who have participated in extracurricular activities. It shows that you have leadership skills, teamwork abilities, and are a well-rounded individual.
  4. Diversity: B-schools prefer students from diverse backgrounds. If you belong to a minority or have unique experiences, it can work in your favor.

Considering your academic scores, your chances of getting into top B-schools may be lower compared to candidates with higher academic scores. However, this doesn't mean that you should give up on your dream of getting into a top B-school. Here are some tips that can help you improve your chances:

  1. Aim for a high score in CAT/GMAT: Focus on preparing for the entrance exams and aim for a high score. This can compensate for your lower academic scores.
  2. Highlight your work experience: If you have relevant work experience, highlight it in your application. It can show that you have practical knowledge and skills.
  3. Showcase your extracurricular activities: Participate in extracurricular activities and showcase your leadership and teamwork skills in your application.
  4. Prepare well for the interview: If you get shortlisted for the interview round, prepare well for it. Research about the B-school and practice common interview questions.

In conclusion, getting admission to top B-schools is highly competitive, but it's not impossible. With a good CAT/GMAT score, relevant work experience, and extracurricular activities, you can improve your chances of getting admission to top B-schools.

AR
Anchal Rai Posted On : February 7th, 2023
Lives in Hyderabad, Telangana, India (2019-present

Yes, ISB Hyderabad offers an MBA program for an undergraduate with less than 2 years of work experience through these 2 options.

Young Leaders Program: This program is eligible for students who are pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s education. To be eligible for this program, students need to take either GMAT or GRE. However, GMAT or GRE is not the only criterion in the selection process.

The pedagogy comprises on-campus and online learning modules that are finally integrated into the flagship PGPM program.

Early Entry Option: This option is for the ones who have completed their graduation but haven’t gained any experience yet. The eligibility criteria include sufficient GRE or GMAT scores. However, the admission, in this case, is deferred subject to the condition that the student completes 2 years of work experience if selected. This means if he gets selected, his admission is guaranteed after 2 years of work experience.

These are the 2 options available at ISB Hyderabad for those who have less than 2 years of experience.

What is the career after a PGDM from Goa Institute of Management?

HS
Harita Sama Posted On : March 3rd, 2023
MBA Marketing & Human Resources, Goa Institute of Management (2021)

The career prospects once you complete your PGDM from Goa Institute of Management depend largely on your specialization and the plethora of opportunities available. The overall placement has been decent but specialization-wise, there are continuous changes.

GIM is generally considered to be an average B School that does not even make it to the top 20. But its alumni have proven otherwise by achieving more than a top B School graduate. But this wasn’t a cakewalk and required a lot of determination and passion.

The career prospects are subjective and can be determined solely on your performance, specialization, and your determination. It’s not the same for all as GIM is not a top B School. You will have to pave your own way to success.

Do PGP-IM graduates from MDI Gurgaon get internships and jobs in Europe like other graduates of ESCP? Is there any sort of differentiation?

UB
Udit Bhatia Posted On : February 23rd, 2023
M.B.A in Finance, Management Development Institute, Gurgaon (Graduated 2011)

Yes, students who take the MDI Gurgaon PGP-IM program and go to Europe for an exchange program are offered jobs and internships. There is no major distinction between the jobs offered to MDI students and the jobs offered to ESCP students. But the only discrimination they might come across is the lack of language proficiency which is a major factor for jobs. I have listed down some tips you can adopt to help in this regard

  • Master at least one European language to the entrant so that you can demonstrate a smooth flow of conversation with your colleagues.
  • Interact with alumni and professors consistently to let them know of your career prospects and be wary of the opportunities they are offering or suggesting.
  • Try to maintain excellent grades throughout your program. This will make your chances of getting a job easier.
  • Apply to all companies possible because European countries scrutinize all applications
  • The consultancy projects are a stepping stone to success so make sure you give your level best. These projects are a part of the curriculum and will help you demonstrate your capabilities thereby improving your chances of getting job offers or letters of recommendation through it.

So yes, as an Indian you will face slight disadvantages over the locals at the European university but these challenges can be handled well to make your way.
