Why is IMT Ghaziabad not as good as it was before?
IMT Ghaziabad was considered one of the best B Schools in the early 2000 or the late 90s.In recent years, it has witnessed a slight decline in its quality of education. This stems from the increment in the batch size thereby declining the talent pool of candidates. The CAT cutoff was reduced to attract more and more candidates. This resulted in substandard crowds and low competition. Another reason was the previous director whose major aim was to earn money.
Recently again though IMT Ghaziabad is gaining fame because of its new director Dr. Atish Chattopadhyay who is managing the institution excellently. He has reduced the students intake and increased the cutoff. He is constantly working towards improving the lost image of the institution.
The college offers excellent placement opportunities and its low average package is the result of large batch-size only. So don’t just look at placement reports, ask the alumni about its recent improvements.
What is the procedure in IMT Ghaziabad for GDPI?
Due to COVID, IMT Ghaziabad made its selection process online. The selection process doesn’t include the GD round. For 2021, the interviews were taken over Zoom. It was neatly organized and every student was given a panel number and slot number. The interview duration is 15-20 minutes. The interview panel consists of two professors. The interview questions usually revolve around academics, past work experience, current affairs, etc.
Which is better, IMT Ghaziabad or IMI Delhi? I am not sure but have an inclination towards HR. What should I do? Please help.
IMI Delhi will be better. It has one of the best management faculties in the country, including IIMs. IMI Delhi placements in 2022 concluded with an average CTC of INR 15.23 LPA. The highest CTC offered stood at around INR 32 LPA. Accenture, Deloitte, Capgemini, BCG, etc. took part in this year's placement drive.
IMT Ghaziabad has a huge batch size and students of all programs go through a common placement process. As a result, every student doesn’t get decent placement opportunities.

It’s not possible for B Schools to offer package roles to the entire batch to maintain a high average figure. So before joining a college for MBA you should analyze whether the package you will get will compensate for the hefty fees you pay.
Which one is better: IMT or XIMB or IMI?
If you have a closer look, there is no major difference between the 3 B Schools. So I have made it easier by judging them on the basis of 2 parameters only.
Admissions: Most competent students get a call from 2 of these 3 institutes as all the 3 to have similar requisites
Placements: The placements are also at a similar level. The profiles and packages offered are similar in all the 3 B Schools except that IMT is a little behind owing to its huge batch size.
So I would say the order would be as this- XIMB >=IMI>IMT

What are some tips regarding MBA (finance) from IMT Ghaziabad? I'd be joining the college in June.
Choosing IMT Ghaziabad is a great decision. My brother and his friends have just passed out from IMT Ghaziabad by completing their MBA in finance, and here are some handy tips from their perspective.
- There is no doubt that you need to study hard in the finance stream as competition is fairly high. However, do not forget to indulge with seniors and socialize as much as possible, because MBA is not only about bookish knowledge. Yes, MBA is incomplete without social interaction and practical knowledge.
- Make sure you are well versed with MS Excel. Most of the concepts are practiced in Excel especially the finance functions.
- Observe the Stock markets (Indian & global), develop a taste for Derivatives, Futures & Options & Investment Management pretty early on.
- Also, an online certification from a decent platform would certainly help grow your skills and might come in handy in the future.
At the end of the day, remember that these 2 years are going to be one of the best years of your life. Therefore make sure to make the most of every moment by socializing alongside taking care of your academics. Also, MBA in finance is a fairly good course with lucrative jobs in the industry. Henceforth, if you build a good background in the finance stream, you will have ample job opportunities with good remuneration.
I have 65% in class 12. Am I eligible for MBA in imt Ghaziabad?
An MBA Institute asks for certain qualities in a student when they finally opt for them to be part of a specific institute, let alone IMT Ghaziabad. Most of them are decided by some factors.
- IMT Ghaziabad usually asks for a three to four year bachelor degree with 50% aggregate and an aptitude test score usually, CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT.
- The cutoffs for aptitude test scores are usually decided each year before admissions, but anyone can expect anywhere between the 90 percentile mark as mentioned.
- Class 12 marks can form a very integral part of the first impression that the institute is going below upon someone. The average package of government colleges like IITs and DSE is slightly less around INR 10.57 LPA. So the point is if you are ready to invest a hefty amount in B Schools, you will not regret the decision as they are game changers. The level of exposure and diversity is almost higher than in Government colleges. IITs, DFS and DSE MBAs have a more theoretical approach than a practical one. However, the figures for private B schools are inflated so do consider the ups and downs.

Everyone has a different definition of worth. In my opinion, IMT Ghaziabad is worth getting admission at under the following circumstances
- If you are a Marketing enthusiast, IMT Ghaziabad is the best B School out there for you. It’s well known for its specialization in marketing and offers a plethora of opportunities in the same.
- If you are ready to put extra effort to learn and adopt the techniques of trade
- If your target packages range from 12-20 LPA
- If you are not interested in MBB firms or Investment Banking roles
- If your graduation from college does not include the institutes like top 5 IIT/SRCC/LSR
