How will the presence of IIM Trichy and BIM affect the MBA students of DoMS NIT Trichy during the placement season?

AA
Apoorva Aditya Posted On : January 21st, 2023
Studied Marketing at Indian Institute of Management, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India

The MBA students of DoMS NIT Trichy will not be significantly affected by the presence of IIM Trichy during the placement season. NIT Trichy is a well-known technical institute and around 60% of the companies that come for Techies also come for NIT Trichy. This means that there is a set of companies that are already open to hiring NIT Trichy students. In the past few years, more and more companies have opened up placements for DoMS, increasing the percentage placement conversion from these companies. The Training and Placement Committee also works to bring in more companies that align with the interests of the students.

Additionally, there are alumni connections that can be utilized. There may be some challenges with companies based in Chennai or Bangalore coming from BIM, but IIM Trichy has a different set of companies and therefore will not greatly impact NIT Trichy in that regard.

I'm getting a seat at NIT Jalandhar in production engineering. What is the scope of the branch in India? Which master's should I choose: an MBA or an MTech?

HC
Harshita Ch Posted On : December 7th, 2022
Btech from Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar ( NITJ ) (Graduated 2019)

Scope of Industrial and Production Engineering is good at NIT Jalandhar. But you will be offered less salary in comparison to Mechanical Engineering.

But if you go for a non-core job, the salaries offered might be above average.

Between M.Tech and MBA, I will recommend you go for MBA. This is because M.Tech placements are very low and very little scope is there.

Choosing MBA will get you the following benefits:

  • Better salary than M.Tech.

  • The curriculum for IPE is easier so you can also prepare for CAT alongside

  • The faculty is extremely supportive

  • The syllabus of IPE and MBA is somewhat similar so it becomes easy for you

People choose M.Tech thinking its a bit similar to IPE. But in reality IPE has a practical and managerial subjects whereas M.Tech has more technical subjects. So don’t get confused and just go for IPE.

Which MBA college crowd is better, Indira or PUMBA?

Sadia Naseem Posted On : May 2nd, 2023

If we compare both Indira and PUMBA, the crowd at the latter is better because it is affiliated with Pune University and it is not easy to get admission there.

For admission, you must have a valid MH-CET score of 95 percentile or higher. On the other hand, Indira is a good institution with a reputed student administration, yet PUMBA is a better college when compared to Indira.

Which is better: ITM Navi Mumbai PGDM or ICICI Bank PO?

AJ
Advait Joshi Posted On : July 14th, 2023
Lives in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

Being an ITM Navi Mumbai alumni, I would suggest you go for a PGDM at ITM. A PGDM from any decent business school will be a better choice in this regard.

The PGDM course at ITM Navi Mumbai costs INR 10.95 Lakhs in total. However, you can easily recover the money within a year or two. The average package for 2022 stood at INR 8.65 LPA and the highest package stood at INR 21 LPA.

If you go for a PGDM, you may even get a job as an assistant manager or manager in a bank. You will climb the ladder much faster than going for the job of a Bank PO at present.

Is IBS a good college for an MBA in marketing? Which is the best campus: Hyderabad, Mumbai, or Pune?

JT
Jayant Thakur Posted On : February 24th, 2023
Studied at ICFAI Business School, Mumbai

Among the campuses of IBS, Hyderabad is considered the best, followed by Mumbai and Pune. It is assumed that the syllabus and course content are similar across the three campuses. Hyderabad is considered to be the best in terms of facilities and resources, while Mumbai is also a strong option, with good professors, case studies, presentations, and a well-equipped campus.

While IBS Hyderabad has a strong placement record, most of the offered positions are in sales. There are also opportunities in advertising, retailing, and other fields, but they are less prevalent. The pay packages offered by the college are decent. After gaining some experience through campus placements, you can explore job opportunities outside the college.

It is important to note that none of the IBS campuses are AICTE approved, but they are affiliated with ICFAI University in Dehradun. As an alternative, you can opt for a distance MBA program by paying an additional fee.

MBA from IIM Calcutta

In institutes like IIMs, IIFT, XLRI, and FMS, the first year consists of all the core courses, which are almost similar in all such top-notch B-Schools. These courses provide the basics of almost all domains relevant to an MBA degree. Some of those subjects are listed below.

  • Finance and Control.
  • Operations Management.
  • Organizational Behaviour.
  • Strategic Management.
  • Management Information Systems.
  • Public Policy and Management.
  • Human Resources Management.

During the second year, subjects mostly depend on the area of specialization chosen by the candidate in MBA. FMS gives a pre-selected set of subjects based on your specialization. In IIMs and XLRI you can choose the subjects through course bidding.
