I scored 359 in BITS this year and have a Mains rank just above 4k.Should I opt for IIIT Allahabad IT or BITS hyd/Goa CSE?
You should choose BITS Hyderabad/Goa. BITS Goa CSE is considered to be on the same level as the Pilani campus. The Hyderabad campus has made some radical improvements over the last few years, as well. Due to the presence of Hyderabad IT hub, the placement and career opportunities available are ample.
BITS offers a lot of freedom to students. Their no-attendance rule and the flexible course structure allow students to explore and take different courses according to their interests. You can leverage these benefits to shape your career, the way you want.
BITS placements are comparable to old IITs. Almost all major recruiting companies that visit IITs, visit BITS as well.
I got 350 in the BITSAT & 3606 in the JEE Advanced. I'm sure I will be getting CSE in NIT Trichy under the home state quota. Which one should I choose BITS Goa, Hyderabad, NIT Trichy, IIT Bhubaneshwar
If you are eligible for all the above-mentioned colleges then BITS Goa and NIT Trichy are two of the best options.
BITS Goa offers Computer Science with a total fee of 14.7 lakhs. Last year, the college scored a placement record of above 90% with the highest CTC of 56 LPA in the CS department. The cut-off last year for CSE was 352 so you may get selected.
BITS Hyderabad offers the same course with a course fee of 15.66 lakhs. The cut-off last year was 342. The IT companies offered an average salary of 14 LPA in last year’s campus placement.
NIT Trichy offers CSE with a course fee of 5.72 lakhs, so there is one advantage of qualifying for an NIT in India. The cut-off rank for JEE Main lies between 280-5317 at this institute. The CSE branch had 100% placement last year with it being the highest recruiting branch for the past 3 years in the college.
IIT Bhubaneswar offers CSE at a fee of 7.91 lakhs, and the JEE Advanced closing cut-off was between 1246-4068. The CSE branch had 100% placement with salaries ranging between 10-35 LPA in 2019 placement.
IIT Dhanbad charges a fee of 8.91 lakhs and the cut-off for JEE Advanced rank lies from 1619-5657. In 2019 campus placement, 90% of CSE students were placed and the maximum salary offered was around 40 LPA.
So after comparing all the colleges, NIT Trichy is the best option.
Is IIT Mandi DSE better or bits Hyd CSE?
IIT Mandi is well known for its campus life and resourceful atmosphere. You will receive a great deal of respect as an IITian rather than a BITian. The placement support is comparatively high at BITS, Hyderabad. Over 25 lakh students get placed every year at BITS.
The branch of data science is limited as it only attracts a specific number of recruiters. If you wish for a branch change, you can definitely opt for IIT Mandi, and you can select CSE, which is a broad field that opens job opportunities in various fields. Hence, keep these factors in mind while selecting these colleges.
Which is worth taking, BITS Hyderabad ECE or NIT Surathkal ECE?
To be honest, it depends on who you are and what you are looking for.
BITS Hyderabad is completely lenient. You will learn if you want to, otherwise, things could go horribly wrong. But one thing is certain: no matter which branch you choose, BITS Hyderabad will assist you in discovering your true passion.
NIT Surathkal, on the other hand, is one of the top NITs where a certain percentage of attendees is required. That's beside the point. If you truly feel and believe that your true interest lies in ECE, it is safer to enroll at NIT Suratkal. However, no other college or university can offer you the freedom that BITS can.
It is always recommended to choose what you feel is good for you and work accordingly.
Which is the best among NIT Kurukshetra (IT), BITS Pilani Goa Campus (ECE), and BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus (ECE)?
Both the BITS, Hyderabad, and Goa offer equal job opportunities and the academic environment is also similar. While BITS Hyderabad enjoys a more favorable location in the IT hub of the country, Goa has an amazing climate. Choosing one between the two is a matter of priorities only.
As far as NIT Kurukshetra is concerned, it cannot match the level of BITS yet.

Should I choose NIT Calicut CS or BITS Hyderabad EEE?
In comparison to BITS Hyderabad’s EEE, NIT Calicut’s CSE, the latter would be considered a better option. However, it is entirely up to you whether you want to pursue IT jobs or electrical hardware jobs.

As I am not much familiar with BITS Hyderabad, I am not able to share details about the college. I had some of my friends graduating from NIT Calicut so I was able to share these details. Therefore, I believe CSE from NIT Calicut is the better option. You can interact with ex-students of BITS Hyderabad to get a proper overview of the college.
Which should I choose, IIIT Kota for CSE or BITS Hyderabad for mechanical engineering?
BITS Hyderabad will be better for a Mechanical degree. IIIT Kota, don't even have their own campus, while BITS Hyderabad is over 10 years established.
- At BITS Hyderabad you will get a centralized BITS Pilani degree. Also for placements, all the companies that visit the Pilani campus also come to Hyderabad.
- Over the recent years, many elite core companies such as Mercedes, Honda, ExxonMobil visited the placement drive.
- According to the recent placement statistics, the highest and average CTC for BITS Hyderabad is 5 LPA and 14 LPA.
I have friends at both BITS Hyderabad and IIIT Kota and based on what I herald through them, I will suggest that you choose BITS for your Mechanical Degree.
Which school should one choose for mechanical engineering: IIITDM Jabalpur or BITS Hyderabad?
Both the colleges are ultimate in providing real-time education to the students. IIITDM Jabalpur is placed in #81 position while the BITS Hyderabad is #6 among the top engineering institutions. - The college enrolls students based on the JEE Main with a total minimum score of 75% in their intermediate.
- The cut-off of the college for the mechanical branch is 20,835 to 33,875.
- The fee at the college is 1.38 Lakhs. However, one can apply for scholarships in the 2nd year if they have scored well in academics.
- The total seats in the mechanical branch are 109. Out of which, 16 seats are for only females.
BITS Hyderabad
- The college enrolls students based on the performance in the BITSAT exam. Also, it requires 10+2 scores with a minimum of 75%.
- The fee at the college is 4.23 Lakhs.
- Last year, the cut off for admission in Mechanical engineering was 275.
Placements:
IIITDM Jabalpur
- The highest salary of the campus is 23 LPA. Whereas the average salary of the students is 9.9 LPA.
- The company visiting the campus are BMW, Renault Nissan, Mercedes Benz, Mahindra, Ashok Leyland, DRDO, BrahMos Aerospace, Capgemini, Cognizant, etc.
BITS Hyderabad
- The campus has a 100% placement rate. Each year over 300 companies visit the campus. Out of which almost 475 students get recruited.
- The highest salary of the college is 14 LPA.
- The companies visiting the campus are ADM Agro, Hyundai, Intel, IBM, Facebook, Infosys, TCS, ICICI, Aurobindo, Flipkart, Research-based companies, Pharma companies, etc.
This is all about the mechanical engineering course in both the colleges. One can choose the best college that suits based on the various aspects mentioned above.
Which is a better option, EEE at IIT Dharwad, EC at BITS Pilani Hyderabad campus, EnI at BITS Pilani campus or ISE at RVCE?
IIT Dharwad is a recently established institute that attracts fewer companies and has a small alumni pool. On the other hand, BITS Pilani has graduated more than 50 batches.
The best option would be to take ECE in BITS Hyderabad or ENI in BITS Pilani. The reason I am against you joining a new IIT is that these IITs are not well-known among big companies and some recruiters don’t even consider them worthy of visiting. They know that these IITs can never be at par with the old ones. So it’s better to look beyond the IIT tag and go for BITS Pilani, an excellent choice indeed!
Which is better, BITS Goa CS or Hyderabad CS?
BITS Hyderabad CS is a better option. Although BITS Goa is older, the CS program on the Hyderabad campus went through rapid growth in a very short time. The reason can be ascribed to the location advantage. Hyderabad is a cybercity, so it's easier for students to get projects, internships, and placement opportunities.
The 2022 statistics of BITS Hyderabad placements show the average CTC for CS to be around INR 22 LPA. The highest CTC offered for CS, this year was INR 43 LPA. MNCs like Apple, Google, Amazon, Adobe, etc. visit the placement drive of BITS Hyderabad regularly.
