MM
Malini Mukherjee Posted On : March 22nd, 2021
Studied at IIITM Gwalior (2021)

Here is the information about IIITM Gwalior by a student who is currently pursuing his degree.

  • IIITM is a very nice place when talking specifically about girls. It is a safe place for girls to study.
  • The campus offers one large girls hostel for the accommodation of girls. All the girl students are made to reside in that hostel itself. The girls are allotted single rooms.
  • There are few time restrictions for girls. They are not allowed to leave the campus after 8 pm at night and they have to reach back to their hostel by 10 pm at max. girls are neither allowed to roam across the campus past 10 pm.
  • In this institution, there is no such boy-girl thing. Here, everyone will get habituated as per the culture and environment of IIITM Gwalior and they will be enjoying being a part of this institution. It is lovely being there.
  • Moreover, when talking about other important parameters such as placements and infrastructure, IIITM Gwalior stands first over IIITD Jabalpur. Actually, IIITM Gwalior stands above IIITD Jabalpur in all aspects.

Thus, we can say that be it a boy or girl, the suggestion would be to go for IIITM Gwalior as it would be a much better choice than IIITDM Jabalpur.

Is It at IIEST Shibpur or IIIT Gwalior better?

DK
Deepak Kumar Posted On : February 26th, 2021
MBA from Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur (2020)

IIEST Shibpur is one of the oldest institutes in India, which is mentored even prior to establishing the first IIT in this country. It is an institute with different feelings rather and a respected institute in India.

The infrastructural facilities and the IT department itself are excellent, and the most important thing is that Microsoft recruits from this institute. Besides, you will receive a good internship opportunity and the placement percentage is also satisfactory. One student even made an internship opportunity in Google, California. If it is compared with CSE, then IT is somewhat behind, as a student from the CSE background gets higher CTCs. But IT has diversity, which is also good.

Additionally, IT in IIEST is one of the branches in which students can face a bitter rivalry, although the student’s quality of this branch is outstanding (far better than the CSE in most cases). The faculties of IT are also excellent like the CSE department.

The placement of both of these institutes is also very good. The main difference is seen in the academic curriculum, which is negligible in most cases.

Particulars

IIEST Shibpur

IIIT Gwalior

Highest Salary

39 LPA

42 LPA

Offers Received

511

102

1st year Fees

1.08 Lakhs

If the student considers IIIT Gwalior, then it can be mentioned that it is undoubtedly a good college, but it is quite behind in most cases if it is compared with IIEST in recent days.

Thus, the student should try for IIEST; if they get a chance, they must go for it without thinking of any other options.

How does ABV IIITM Gwalior rank in India? What is the coding environment there? How does it compare with other lower NIT's? Average placement and package for IPG?

NS
Nikita Singhania Posted On : February 23rd, 2021
ABV IIITM

If you are amongst individuals who are really keen on coding and moreover, have hard skills regarding the same, then you will enjoy the environment of ABV IIITM. It has influenced coders to become more proficient and technically sound IT experts in the course of time. ABV IIITM has also been ranked 100th for BTech by NIRF’20.

Placements:

ABV IIITM has a far better placement record as compared to lower-ranked NITs.

  • For IPG, the average salary is 8.1 LPA and the highest is 31.5 LPA.
  • Due to certain technical errors inside the campus, the average has dropped down to 7. But, if you consider the off-campus placements, then it can climb up to 10 LPA.

Thus, IT in IIIT Gwalior will definitely remain to be the best option if it is compared to lower middle NITs.

What are the pieces of furniture provided in the hostel rooms in ABV-IIITM, Gwalior?

SR
Soumili Roy Posted On : February 23rd, 2021
B.Tech - Information Technology & Computer Science

ABV IIITM has three boys’ hostels and one girls’ hostel. In the first year, you will get accommodation based on your batch. You will either have a flat mate or a single occupancy during only the first year of the course you are enrolled in. You are afterwards required to shift to a new hostel where your period of stay will remain for the remaining college years (that is, 3-4 years).

However, in all the aforementioned cases, you are supposed to obtain a chair, a table, an almirah, some of the storage spaces niched on the walls and on top of a cupboard, and 2 sets of 3 spaced shelves. It comes double in number if your room has been designed for places of two.

The good news is, once the final allotment of a permanent room has been completed in the second year, you are free to buy your own personalized furniture items, such as a chair or anything as per your wish.

The rooms of the institutional hostel are of a decent size for single occupancy and are provided with the bare minimum essentials like a single fan, and adequate lighting. But, other non-essential luxuries such as coolers, heaters, ACs, and even better furniture are to be bought with personal expenditure.

Alongside, other crucial gadgets like fridges and washing machines are usually bought as a clubbed expense, by groups of friends having almost nearby room attachments or living door-by-door to one another.

Apparently, as witnessed, hostels here can be counted upon for all the basic amenities required for minimal staying purposes. You are also free to decorate your room as you wish to. That being said, the institute provides basic needs, and if students require more, they can amend as they wish to.

Is it worthy to get admission into IIITM Gwalior or IIITDM Jabalpur for an MTech in CSE in terms of placement?

MB
Malini Bose Posted On : July 23rd, 2021
Studied at the Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Gwalior

One of my close friends is an alumnus of IIITM Gwalior and here is what he had to say about their M.Tech in CSE program.

  • IIITM Gwalior offers a five-year integrated program which is called Integrated Post Graduate (IPG). It is in the form of 3+2 and therefore, for the first three years the course is the same for everyone. For the next two years, you can either opt for M.Tech or MBA. So the course is a combination of B.Tech and M.Tech/MBA, whichever you opt for. When the institution was established, this was not so common.
  • The institution provides a plethora of opportunities in the fields of self-learning, innovation, and application.
  • The campus is huge. 10 years ago, it was in its budding stage and was exploring various possibilities of growth in aspects like infrastructure, facilities, and faculties. Today, it stands as a well-established institution.
  • You will find a lot of opportunities at IIITM Gwalior since it is an IT institute. It all depends on you, how well you make use of it.
  • Many of the alumni of the institute are working for top technology firms. This clearly shows how well the course structure is and how competitive, as well as corporate culture, is instilled in the students as a part of the curriculum.
  • The infrastructure that the college has built in the last few years is astonishing. From sports facilities to computer labs, arts and drama, and all other forums, everything is amazing.
  • Each hosteller is allotted a single room. You do not have to share your room with anyone.

IIITM Gwalior is the best choice but, the decision is yours. Weigh out the pros and cons and choose for yourself.
