Will I get CSE at Amrita’s Coimbatore and Bangalore campuses with an AEEE rank of 2,231 in the open quota?

Anam Shams Posted On : January 8th, 2021

The chances of getting a seat for a desired campus and course depends on the competition and toughness of the entrance exam.

There are many determining factors of the AEEE cutoff such as, number of seats available, number of applicants, the difficulty level of the exam, and the number of students who applied and appeared for exams.

Each year the cutoff set by the college for admission is different, that is why it is tough to answer this question if one can secure a seat in CSE for the desired campus. However, one can look at the previous year’s cutoffs to get an idea about the ranking and seat allotment process.

Cutoff:

AEEE CSE Cutoff of Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore and Bangalore campus for students in General Category (Open & State Quota) in the academic years of 2017 and 2018 are as follows.

Campus

Academic Year

Opening Rank

Closing Rank

Coimbatore

2017

6940

16547

2018

1-750

9501-10000

Campus

Academic Year

Last Rank-Open

Last Rank-State

Bangalore

2017

6767

10354

2018

7000

13500

According to the previous year’s cut-off mentioned, it is very hard for the student to get admissions into the Amrita Coimbatore campus with a rank of 2,231. However, there is a chance to be accepted for the CSE program with an AEEE rank of 2,231 at the Bangalore campus as the cut-offs for the previous year indicate.

Therefore, one can get admission into Amritas at the Bangalore campus. However this analysis is done on the previous year’s cutoffs, that is why one needs to be updated with the current year’s cutoffs which can be checked on the official college website.

AM
Anirudh Mukharjee Posted On : May 10th, 2022
studied at Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore

Among these, Amrita is the better option. It follows a rigorous curriculum that is at the same level as IITs and top universities from around the world. The student crowd is competitive. Amrita has an amazing coding culture. It organizes Hackathons and coding competitions regularly.

If you are interested in a circuital branch-like CSE, EEE, ECE, AI, etc. you can get good placement opportunities. Amrita School of Engineering placements 2021 had an average CTC of INR 5.8 LPA, while the highest CTC offered was INR 56.95 LPA.

Which college is better, SASTRA or Amrita?

PC
Piyush Chaudhari Posted On : May 5th, 2021
Studied at SASTRA University, Thanjavur, graduated in 2020

One of my seniors from school is an alumnus of Amity University and he was very satisfied with the BBA program of the university. He completed his course with ease with a bit of smart work.

  • The BBA course aims to prepare the students for a life in management in business after successful completion of the degree. The faculty would be productive if the students are proactive in their approach.
  • Amity University gives ample opportunities to the students for growth if they are willing to take the initiative.
  • The university is somewhat expensive and the return on investment leaves a lot to be desired. If you are looking forward to BBA then you should start preparing for MBA from the first year itself. Most companies that visit the campus in the hopes of recruiting BBA students are BPOs or KPOs.

Overall, Amity is a decent option for a BBA degree.

My AEEE Rank 2024 is 13000. Will I be eligible for a scholarship?

A
Admin Posted On : April 2nd, 2024

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeeth offers AEEE scholarship based on the rank in the entrance examination. Usually, 200+ scholarships are awarded based on the Amrita Entrance Examination - Engineering every year. The scholarship ranges from 25% to 90% per annum on tuition fees.

Students with a rank under 1000 might be eligible for a 90% scholarship, candidates holding a 1000-2000 rank in AEEE could be provided with a 50% scholarship and students holding a position within 5000 rank holders can be entitled to a 25% scholarship. Getting a scholarship with a 13000 rank is difficult but not impossible.

The scholarship slab depends on the AEEE 2024 rank, the availability of seats in a particular branch, and the number of applicants applying for that branch.

The university has three scholarship slabs: Slab 1, Slab 2 and Slab 3. Every slab has a subsidized B.Tech fee for the academic year 2024-25. Depending on the rank of the candidate in AEEE 2024, the following subsidized fees must be paid:

  • Slab 1: The B.Tech fees for Slab 1 range from INR 1,00,000 to INR 1,50,000 annually for various B.Tech specializations across seven campuses: Amaravati, Amritapuri, Bengaluru, Coimbatore, Chennai, Nagercoil, and Faridabad.
  • Slab 2: Under Slab 2, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeeth's B.Tech subsidized fee ranges from INR 1,25,000 to INR 2,90,000 per annum for all the specializations.
  • Slab 3: It is the last slab for students having a comparatively lower rank in AEEE. The B.Tech fees range from INR 1,50,000 to INR 4,00,000 on an annual basis.

*The scholarship slab 1 and slab 2 are allotted for the academic year 2024-2025.

Scholarship Continuation Criteria:

The continuation of AEEE scholarship is based on the fulfilment of the below-mentioned criteria:

  • Academic Performance: For scholarship slab 1, the candidate must have a minimum of 8 CGPA at the end of each academic year and for slab 2, the minimum criteria is 7.5 CGPA.
  • There should be no disciplinary action during the period of study in university.

If the student fails to maintain the above criteria, the Slab 1 candidate has to pay Slab 2 scholarship fees. Similarly, if the CGPA of a slab 2 student is less than 7.5, he or she has to pay slab 3 scholarship fees.

In case, the student of a higher slab shifts to a lower slab, he or she will not be able to move back to the higher slab accomplished before.
