What is BJB College like for a B.Com?

RA
Ritesh Agarwal Posted On : April 13th, 2021
Studied Commerce at Buxi Jagabandhu Bidyadhar College, Bhubaneshwar

One of my friends will be graduated from this institute in April, and thus, I can share his experience.

If you are confused after completing 12th standard board exam and cannot decide where to take admission, then BJB might be the right choice.

Faculty

  • Professors are knowledgeable enough, and most of them have student-friendly attitudes.
  • Most of the teachers here are old, so they really do not care if they leave their classes; thus, strictness is completely nil in this institute.
  • HOD from the Commerce Department is very serious and a little strict for his students.

Attendance

  • My friend only did regular classes in the first semester, and after that, he can count how many classes he had done in both hands.
  • Teachers are experienced enough, but they are slow, and most of them call out the notes from the books.
  • Attendance is not a big issue for BJB students, and for that reason, the number of students gradually decreases from the first semester onwards.

College atmosphere and the seniors

  • Seniors are really friendly, but the juniors’ students should make friends with them.
  • Campus life is enjoyable, with not strictness for attendance; hence, the student can make good memories.

Besides, some other things are listed below:

  • Cut-off marks for BJB entrance are high, so the student needs to de serious about their board exams first.
  • Exam schedules are sometimes uncertain and normally proclaim 2-3 weeks earlier to the exam.
  • Ragging is very rare in this institute.
  • Getting scored is not so difficult here, and students can easily score 85-88% because BJB is quite liberal than the Utkal University. But the students have to write a lot in the exam paper, which is the only trick to score a lot.
  • This college does not provide any good job opportunities and internships also.
  • There are no fests or any extra facilities in this institute.

If you love to lead irregular and unsystematic college life and wants to make other preparation, you can choose BJB. This institute has its identity to the entire state, and it has the best grades for studying Commerce.

If you have to choose between colleges in BBSR and will get a seat in this institute, it will certainly be an excellent opportunity for you. You have to study on your own, which is actually needed to earn a good score.

How do I score good marks in a B.Com. at the Rajasthan University?

PS
Pooja Saraf, Posted On : October 29th, 2021
M.Com Financial Management, University of Rajasthan (2018)

One of my friends studied at Rajasthan University. Let me share some of the things he used to do to prepare for scoring good marks.

  • Though the question pattern has changed, it is necessary to go through the previous year’s question papers.
  • It is quite impossible to read every book thoroughly, that is why learning from the previous year’s question papers will be beneficial.
  • For practicals start practicing from the unit of the book which you find comparatively easier and interesting.
  • Try and pay attention to every lecture being conducted in the classes.
  • For the 20 marks questions, try writing 7-8 pages, as it will fetch you better marks.
  • Make sure you use points instead of paragraphs.

Finally, try to remain calm in stressful situations. Confidently answer your questions. While writing, do not repeat the same things over and over, maintain a tidy answer sheet and you will be good to go.

BSc.(Hons) Chemistry from Daulat Ram College, Delhi University (2018)

Both these colleges are good options for pursuing a BCom honors. The quality of academics offered at these colleges is decent. However, being situated at the North campus, Daulat Ram has an edge over Gargi College. The faculty base is great at DRC. You will get decent exposure along with the advantages of being on the north campus.

What are the recommended books for b.com hons 1st year for SOL DU?

DS
Devdutta Sharma Posted On : September 29th, 2021
B.Com Studying & General Knowledge,School of Open Learning,University of Delhi (2017)

One of my friends graduated from SOL DU and here’s what I got to know from him. He mentioned that the recommended books vary from student to student.

  • If any student prepares for an exam just before one day, then they should opt for Ten Years of that subject, because the Ten Years has the solutions for the past years’ question papers.
  • Students find it easy because they get an idea about what type of questions are asked in the exams and revise 2 to 3 papers. This is enough to get passing marks in the exams.
  • But if you revise the summary of each chapter from SOL study material and then try 1 or 2 sample papers of that subject then it will increase your confidence and you can secure good marks. This method takes 2 to 4 days for every subject.
  • Attend S.O.L. PCP classes and there you will get recommendations from lecturers.
  • Also, you can check the syllabus book provided by S.O.L. for the recommended books of each subject.

Do not forget to study the S.O.L. books and Ten Years. Study hard, because scoring good marks will help to enhance your aggregate percentage.

Among Sri Venkateswara and Ramjas, the former is the better option for a B.Com program.

The administration at Venky is quite good. It has many active societies. Everything at the institute is online. You can easily get your admit cards or pay your fees. It also offers better academics and faculties.

Is it compulsory to pass in all the subjects of B.Com Hons 2nd year in Du Sol?

RK
Rajni Kaur Posted On : October 5th, 2021
Studied B.Com(H) from University of Delhi

It is not mandatory to pass all the subjects in any year of B.Com Hons in SOL DU. Usually, many students fail in two subjects and still manage to complete the degree.

There is a criterion set by the university, if you manage to get at least 40% marks in total then two subjects below 33% will be considered as a pass.

You can apply for re-examination if you can re-appear and score much higher than the previous term. There will be an additional fee for filling the examination form
