My brother has studied here and as per him, fee waiver scholarships are actually not a part of IIIT Guwahati. My brother has not encountered anyone in requirement of a scholarship program held by IIIT Guwahati. 

At the same, contrary to any scholarship programs, there are several students in the institute who have availed themselves of education loans for further studies. They are managing circumstances at their personal levels, and none of their financial weights are provided or funded by the institution itself.

• IIIT Guwahati usually also has the provision of industry support from various major companies because of the status of national importance it has. It also comes under MHRD, GOI directly. IIIT Bhubaneswar doesn’t enjoy the same privilege.
• IIIT Guwahati receives funds and support directly from the central government, unlike IIIT Bhubaneswar.
• IIIT Guwahati was first established by MHRD and was among the few newer IIITs to have their permanent campus quite early.
• The peer group at IIIT Guwahati is better due to the higher cut-off as compared to IIIT Bhubaneswar.

These are the reasons behind the poor placement record of IIIT Bhubaneswar.

At IIIT Guwahati the curriculum followed is the same as IIIT H which is one of the best institutes for CS in the country. So, even if you are completely new to coding, after the completion of one year, you will be able to understand and do advanced coding. Provided you are passionate about coding and put in the required effort. 

I have a few friends at the institute and according to them, there are many students on the campus who practice coding. The institute also has a coding club and a robotics club. 

Also, the institute is still in the developing phase so you will get ample opportunities to collaborate on various projects with the professors, brush up on your coding as well as management and leadership skills. During YUVAAN IIIT G Cultural Fest, coding gets very intense among students.

If we talk about IIIT Guwahati in recent terms collating it with different IITs/IIITs/NITs it is actually doing really well. IIIT-G is a better option for pursuing CS/IT and then NITs. 

Rather than relying completely on NIRF ranking, you can also take a look at placements. Again, IIIT Guwahati is one of the most renowned institutes situated in the northeastern party of Assam. According to the NIRF ranking, IIITG ranks 66th overall and 4th amongst all the IIITs.

Further, if you see, IIITG gives you a lively atmosphere to study Information Technology. IIITG consists of two branches namely CSE and ECE and this, in turn, keeps the faculty to student ratio good. The faculty members here are really polite and the best you can come across. They teach in-depth and are always ready to help.

As the year are passing by the college is also growing at its pace and thus the NIRF ranking gives the little push ahead.

No, IIIT Guwahati is not better than IIIT Sri City and IIIT Trichy. Among these three IIITs, IIIT Sri City has an edge over the other two. You need to check the following reasons to get a better view:

• IIIT Sri City was newly established in 2013 but got its permanent campus in 2018. While the other two are still operating on temporary campuses, you’ll get your own fully equipped campus at IIIT Sri City.
• IIIT Sri City is mentored by IIIT Hyderabad which is itself a premier institute. This means you’ll get the excellent curriculum, focus, faculty, and placement assistant as it is in IIIT Hyderabad.
• Despite being new, IIIT Sri City has been producing successful graduates in past years. You can definitely benefit from a well-established alumni network.
• You might be offered highly paid internships in India as well as abroad.
• Many of its students qualify to get admission in reputed institutes abroad such as the University of Illinois, Stevens, CMU, etc.

At the end of the day, IIIT Sri City definitely seems to be performing better in most aspects. So, you should go for CSE from IIIT Sri City instead of Guwahati and Trichy. However, your admission totally depends on your JEE Main ranks so be prepared for all.
