One of my friends is pursuing his Electrical Engineering from IIT Bhubaneswar. He had the cutoff required for CS at NIT Warangal but chose IIT Bhubaneswar instead. Although IIT Bhubaneswar is a still developing institute than NIT Warangal but still let’s look upon some points to contrast between these colleges.

Academics:

• In terms of infrastructure and laboratories, IIT Bhubaneswar does have many labs for all the students under graduation, post-graduation, and Ph.D. The labs are well-equipped to carry out the course works. 
• At the undergraduate level, you do not need to do fundamental research works. You will work under the professors researching in various fields. 

So, even though IIT Bhubaneswar is a new institute, it can certainly offer the required amenities.

Student Crowd:

For the quality of students to be compared, IIT Bhubaneswar has students between 1000 and 6000 JEE Advanced rank holders which are definitely better than the group of students in NIT Warangal.

Faculty:

IIT Bhubaneswar has less experienced faculty but they have immense knowledge. If approached, they clear all the doubts and help in all the academic-related works.

Placements:

• IIT Bhubaneswar has witnessed increasing placements in recent years. 
• Currently, NIT Warangal is ahead for the placement section due to the vast alumni base. 
• But you should not choose an institute purely based on placement statistics. A good placement record does not guarantee you will get a good job offer too. Also, placements depend a lot on how you perform during the placement process.

Extra-Curricular Activities:

• IIT Bhubaneswar does have activities and fests and cultural events but these events in NIT Warangal have fests that are much bigger and recognized than IIT Bhubaneswar. 
• In the Inter-IIT meets and competitions, IIT Bhubaneswar secured ranks under the top 6 institutes among all 23 institutes participating in the meet.

Sports:

There are upcoming events planned for the sports in the coming years in IIT Bhubaneswar but there are no such great facilities now as compared to NIT Warangal.

For postgraduate courses, i.e. Masters or PhDs NIT Warangal is a great option. However, undergraduate students do not benefit much from the research happening and other accomplishments of old reputed institutes like NIT Warangal. So, for an undergraduate degree, IIT Bhubaneswar is better than NIT Warangal.

Both NIT Warangal and MNNIT Allahabad are prestigious colleges in India, offering various undergraduate courses. NITs are always a good option in terms of placement, fees, faculty, and facilities. According to NIRF ranking 2020, NIT Warangal and MNNIT Allahabad stand at 26th and 48th rank respectively. Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic both the colleges have maintained a good placement record. A total of 792 and 732 undergraduates were placed from MNNIT and NIT Warangal respectively.

Admission:

• The admission criteria remain the same for all NITs that are for admission into undergraduate courses students need to apply for JEE mains.

• For Postgraduate courses, students need to appear for the GATE exam. Admission will be done purely on the basis of rank obtained by the student.

• NIT Warangal has a total of 120 seats in the Mechanical branch and the cut-off rank is 6068-9243.

• MNNIT Allahabad has a total of 180 seats in the ECE branch and the cut-off rank is 4615-6752.

Faculty:

• NIT Warangal has more than 300 faculties and most of them are Ph.D. holders from national and international universities in their respective fields.

• On the other hand, MNNIT also has a good number of faculty guiding their students for the purpose of placement, research and development, excellent academics, and a lot more.

Course fees:

The course fee of the NITs is quite affordable. Students who avail the hostel and mess have a pay a bit more than the day borders.

Placements:

Both the NITs have an impressive placement record of placing more than 95% of its students.

• NIT Warangal has placed 80% of its students from the mechanical branch. The highest package offered was 11 LPA and the median package offered was 7 LPA. More than 150 companies visited the college for the placement drive.

• MNNIT has placed 116 students from the ECE branch. The highest package offered was 25.33 LPA and the median was 11 LPA. More than 200 companies visited the college for the placement drive.

Apart from academics, these colleges focus on extracurricular activities that include an annual tech-fest(eye-catching feature). Experienced faculty help the students in research and development. Both the NITs are a good option which can be proved because of its national rankings.

IIT Bhubaneswar, IIT Guwahati, and NIT Warangal are among the top-ranked institutions of India. IIT Guwahati has been ranked 7th both in Engineering and Overall category in NIRF India Rankings 2020. NIT Warangal is the first amongst the 30 NITs established in the country and ranked 19th in Engineering category in NIRF India Rankings 2020. IIT Bhubaneswar is among eight new IITs and stood at 22nd rank among the Engineering colleges in India as per NIRF 2020 rankings. 

These are highly prestigious institutions and highly preferred institutions for placements among top global and Indian corporates to hire professionals. Civil engineering being the core branch of engineering here are some placement stats of these institutions.

• Every year more than 120+ companies visit the campus for placements.
• The highest salary of the institution is 43.33 LPA while the average salary is 12.15 LPA according to the placement statistics of 2020.
• According to statistics of 2019, The placement rate for civil engineering is 82%.
• The average placement package offered to the Civil department in 2019 was 6.29 LPA, with the highest package going up to INR 18 LPA.
• Top recruiters are Bajaj, L&T, Coromandel, Welspun, IRON, Shapoorji, Tata, and many more.

IIT Bhubaneswar:

• It has achieved an overall placement record of 87% for undergraduate and 65% for graduates in 2020.
• The placement rate of civil engineering is 62%.
• The highest salary of the institution is 43.33 LPA while the average salary is 15.8 LPA according to the placement statistics of 2020.
• The placement rate for civil engineering in 2019 was 89%. 
• Top recruiters L&T, Tata Power, Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Texas Instruments, Hindalco Industries, DRDO, ONGC, HPCL, BPCL, IOCL, and many more.

Hence according to the statistics, IIT Guwahati has better placements when compared to others and when it comes to MTech sequence is IIT Guwahati, NIT Warangal, and then IIT Bhubaneswar.

IIT Tirupati is an autonomous technological institution in Andhra Pradesh. The college offers BTech and MTech for EEE. Admissions are provided through National level examinations namely JEE Advanced, and GATE.

NIT Warangal is ranked 26th within the Engineering category by the 2019 NIRF Ranking. The institute offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses for EEE. The Admissions are done through national levels entrance exams like JEE, GATE, and JAM.

Faculty:

IIT Tirupati:

• It approximately has 65 permanent faculty members who have excellent research and training backgrounds.

• All the faculty members have completed their research and Ph.D. from reputed University and the course curriculum is also good as students have opportunities to choose the subjects based on their interests.

NIT Warangal:

• It features a strong and enormous faculty of 302 members across all branches, out of which 208 are Ph.D. holders in their respective departments.

• All faculty members are excellently accomplished and experienced in their fields.

Infrastructure:

IIT Tirupati:

• It has a fully Wi-Fi enabled campus and degree College provides coaching for sports like live volleyball, cricket, etc. Students are always encouraged for participating in sports in which all items will also participate.

• Hostel rooms are hygienic and the food is good. A permanent doctor has been appointed by the college for medical facilities.

NIT Warangal:

• NIT Warangal features a central library with 179797 books, a fully Wi-Fi enabled campus, a sports complex, and a well-featured and equipped technology labs for the students.

• Hostel rooms well equipped for both, single and shared rooms. The food facilities are quite decent with good medical facilities for its students.

Placement:

IIT Tirupati:

• 70 students were placed in reputed companies with an average package of 9.18 LPA at IIT Tirupati.

• Companies like Afcons, Alation, Ashok Leyland, Cushman and Wakefield, Danieli, Genpact, TCS innovation labs are some of the top recruiters of the college.

NIT Warangal:

• In NIT Warangal, around 150 reputed companies visit the campus every year for recruitment.

• The highest package was 43.44 LPA and 12.15 LPA as an average package as per the 2020 stats.

These are some of the factors you need to consider for seeking admission in EEE at these institutes. As for which institute will be better for you, you should decide that.

NIT Warangal is ranked 26th in the engineering category by NIRF Ranking 2019. The institute provides one of the best placements for metallurgical and materials engineering of 88% every year. 

CSE at NIT Manipur emphasises the basics of computer programming and networking. The institute ranks 148th in the engineering category by NIRF 2019 ranking and produces quality developers in the software domain. The institute provides a tremendous placement record of 100% placements for the CSE branch. 

Admission process:

NIT Warangal:

• The minimum criteria to apply for the BTech course is 75% marks in 10+2 or top 20 percentile in the 10+2 by the respective board.

Faculty:

• NIT Manipur consists of 72 faculties out of which 40 are holding the PhD degree in their respective fields.
• NIT Warangal consists of 60 faculties and they are very friendly towards the students. They conduct lectures and explain the doubts in a practical way. 

NIT Warangal is way better than NIT Manipur in all aspects. The institute provides 90% placements every year for all branches. The faculties are very supportive and always motivates their students for success. Thus the students pursuing metallurgical and materials engineering from NIT Warangal have a good scope in the future.

NIT Warangal, was amongst the first 10 NITs to be established, ranks 19th for engineering by NIRF while IIT Hyderabad is ranked 17rd by NIRF. Both these institutes are centres of excellence in academics and have cut-throat competition.

Campus

• NIT Warangal: Tie-up with TCS, CPRI, Siemens to provide industrial training to students. The Teaching-Learning Programme, helps in development for both students and faculty.

It is very tough to distinguish between these colleges as these are premier institutes of the nation. Infrastructurally they are almost at par with all facilities available. Faculties are highly qualified, few being involved in many government funded research projects. Hence, it is up to the student to choose a given course in a particular college.

According to the NIRF 2020 rankings, MNNIT Allahabad was ranked 48^th, NIT Surathkal was ranked 13^th, NIT Warangal was ranked 19^thand MANIT Bhopal was ranked 65^th in India 2020 for B.Tech courses (including ECE). Admission to each institute is done on the basis of rank secured in JEE Main.
