It will depend on the cut-off marks as set up by the college. It differs from year to year. If you score above 85 your chances of getting selected in the first round will be easier.
Later it will gradually drop down to 75-80. This will also vary among students of reserved and unreserved categories. Students belonging to reserved categories might require a lower score like 70-75, which can drop down to 60-65, depending on the course and the college’s set cut off.

TAPMI accepts CAT/NMAT/CMAT/XAT scores.Cut off respectively are 85,80, 95 and 80 percentiles. After clearing the cutoffs they shortlist on the basis of academic profile including 10th, 12th and graduation scores and work experience with extra curricular activities.
After the shortlisting, TAPMI conducts WAP, GD, and PI rounds.
If you have a percentage in the 50s or 60s in UG and no work experience, you must score above the 98%ile with an excellent interview.
You will receive the IIFT. The percentage of these people is very low, but it is possible if you achieve a high percentile. If you perform well in the entrance exam (score 3-4 marks above the cut-off) and the admission process (GD-PI and WAT), a UG score (at least above 65) should not be a problem. All you have to do is perform well in the GDPI Process and give them a reason to choose you.

Apart from a few private colleges like BITS Pilani, NIT Agartala is certainly better than private colleges. Here you will have the opportunity to study under some of the most well-educated and experienced faculties. Moreover, the past few years have witnessed a steady increase in the number of IT against visiting for placements. The academic ambiance is much better than in private colleges and your peers will be some of the most intellectual people in the region. Chances are, you can get placed at a PSU as almost every year, around 10–15 people are placed in PSU from NIT Agartala. This is a major advantage NIT Agartala has over private colleges other than the low fees it charges.
The most coveted departments of NIT Agartala are CSE, ECE, and Mechanical. The institute boasts of a peaceful and beautiful location and campus which is a boon for nature lovers. However, here are a few cons of the institute you must consider while choosing other private colleges
Overall, I do think NIT Agartala is better than most private colleges.
If you are considering studying finance, it is not recommended to do so solely for the purpose of earning a high salary. Students who have graduated from newer Indian Institute of Management (IIM) programs, including the one in Ranchi, have reportedly obtained jobs with salaries ranging from 9-20 lakhs per year, with a median of around 10 lakhs per year. However, it is important to genuinely enjoy the field of study rather than just being attracted to it for financial reasons.
It is also worth noting that as you progress in your career, you may eventually take on managerial responsibilities regardless of your field of study. If you are unsure about your interest in finance, you may want to try taking an introductory course on Coursera to see if it is something you truly enjoy.
